Support PBS & Win!

"You know I could as soon forget you, as my own existence" -Heathcliff in Wuthering Heights

I don't know about you, but I LOVE the Masterpiece Series on PBS. During the month of June my local PBS station is having their semi-annual fund drive. PBS and local stations rely on contributions from people like us as their largest single source of financial support. Our support assures that all Americans can continue to benefit from award-winning programs (like Masterpiece) that open up the worlds of current events, art, science, music, history, your local community and more for everyone, from all walks of life.

Individual gifts from members provide the single largest source of funding for public television, and these dollars are leveraged to earn support from federal, state and local governments, businesses, foundations and other funders.

I have made a donation to support my local PBS stations, and urge you to support yours and make a pledge to PBS . As an added bonus to doing something good, you can also sign up for their e-newsletter for a chance to win a set of three Kurt Wallender novels, currently being featured in a Masterpiece Mystery! series.

35% Off Cowboy Books! Expires June 30, Print Books. Featuring New York Times bestselling author Diana Plamer and more!

Sorry I missed this post. It was our anniversary and we were out celebrating. Just today noticed the link. We have supported our local PBS station as long as I can remember. With the cut in government funding, it is even more important to give. We actually gave twice this summer. They have had two pledge drives this summer and I am sure they will have another in the late fall. It is money well spent.
NPR is another good outlet for news and music that needs supporting. When we travel, we tend to follow the NPR stations along the route. If they are having a pledge drive, like one was on our last trip, we will call in a small donation. I appreciate the classical music they have every time we drive through there. It is worth the $10 to us to help make sure it is still there on our next trip.

Thanks for promoting a worthy cause.

My FREE Kindle Quest

I've wanted a Kindle for what seems like forever, but haven't been able to afford it (and that's saying something since I can justify the cost of just about ANYTHING that I really want). I've tried winning one in one of the many giveaways that have taken place over the couple of years, but with no luck :( So I've decided to take matters in hand so to speak :) I've now decided that I am going to accumulate enough Swagbucks from my Swabucks searches to buy one...so in essence my new Kindle will be FREE...funded entirely by my internet searches done on Swagbucks. I'll keep you informed of the Great Kindle Quest below (in case you're interested....if not feel free to just skip over this part, but really who wouldn't be interested in a FREE Kindle?)
Goal: $119
Current Swagbucks Amazon Gift Card balance: $90.00
If you'd like to learn how you can earn Swagbucks and earn your own Amazon Gift Cards to buy books, a Kindle or other merchandise sold at Amazon contact me and I would be more than happy to tell you how I plan to go about it. (just so you know you can earn both Amazon.com and Amazon.ca gift cards on this rewards site)
