Knight of Desire by Margaret Mallory & Giveaway

Tuesday, July 7

**This contest is now closed. Thanks for entering***

I just recently finished reading Knight of Desire and fell in love with Medieval romances all over again, which prompted my desire to devote an entire week to this subgenre of historical romance. I hope you will enjoy all of the talented authors that will be featured here this week at Seductive Musings, starting with the very talented Margaret Mallory.

Why Medievals?

People often ask me how I happened to choose the early 1400’s as the setting for my first book, KNIGHT OF DESIRE. What more exciting period could I find? I have a king who usurped the throne from his cousin, rebellions and traitorous plots everywhere, and one of England’s greatest kings is a prince who is beginning to show the man he will become.

In truth, I love history and would be happy writing stories set in different times and places. What I particularly like about the medieval period—besides all the adventure and political intrigue—is that it lends itself so well to stories with themes of honor and loyalty. And then there are the knights, of course...

My son gets the credit for my interest in knights. He moved on, but I miss the days when he made me play with “swords” in the back yard and read tales of King Arthur countless times. What is fascinating to me is that versions of these same tales were very popular in the early 1400’s. The chivalric ideals of the stories were the ideals of the time. That does not mean medieval knights actually behaved honorably—but they knew they should. ☺

His surcoat still bloody from battle, William FitzAlan comes to claim the strategic borderlands granted to him by the king. One last prize awaits him at the castle gates: the lovely Lady Catherine Rayburn.

Catherine risked everything to spy for the crown. Her reward? Her lands are declared forfeit and she is given this choice: marry FitzAlan or be taken to the Tower. Catherine agrees to give her handsome new husband her body, but she’s keeping secrets and dares not give him her heart. As passion ignites and danger closes in, Catherine and William must learn to trust in each other to save their marriage, their land, and their very lives.

Oh, and Margaret, I would LOVE to win a copy of this book to add to my medieval collection. I think it was the other way around with me and my now 18-year old son. I used to buy him all sort of books (from infancy) on knights and castles. I still have those books -- in case I need to look at the pictures for research, of course. I used to save the cardboard from Christmas rolls and we would use those as swords.

I'll keep you informed of the Great Kindle Quest below (in case you're interested....if not feel free to just skip over this part, but really who wouldn't be interested in a FREE Kindle?)
Goal: $119
Current Swagbucks Amazon Gift Card balance: $90.00
If you'd like to learn how you can earn Swagbucks and earn your own Amazon Gift Cards to buy books, a Kindle or other merchandise sold at Amazon contact me and I would be more than happy to tell you how I plan to go about it. (just so you know you can earn both and gift cards on this rewards site)
