Monday's Muse

Monday, September 7

Sorry, but the image containing the Monday's Muse has been removed from this blog so as not to violate any copyright issues.  Thanks for your understanding!

Usually you'll here everyone say TGIF, but me....today I say THANK GOD IT'S MONDAY. I can definitely use a holiday, especially to appreciate today's muse:) Happy Labor Day everyone!

You see, last week was an absolute nightmare for me, so I could not be more happy that it's finally a new week. Early last week my computer contracted a nasty virus, and by nasty I mean baddd. My computer was out of commission from Tuesday until Saturday. And before you say it, yes I have a reputable computer anti-virus program, but unfortunately this virus is so new and clever that they did not release an update for it until the day after my computer was infected. Lotta good that did me.

Fortunately for me, my BIL is knowledgeable with computers so I frantically called him Tuesday night. He took one look at the computer and started laughing...laughing I tell you, then went on to tell me "your computer is so fu#*ed!", praised the virus for being so clever, and told me he would have to take it home to do computer surgery. He promised nothing, not thinking he could save it. All the while I'm thinking his comments were not helping to alleviate my anxiety. I had things to do...pay bills, answer emails, stay in touch, not to mention my blog schedule. All of it got nixed. I lived almost an entire week without a computer and hated every minute of it. And it's not because of the entertainment value, but also for practical purposes. I couldn't pay bills like I normally do, could not renew my library loans and a variety of everyday tasks that makes my life easier. I just did not realize I was so dependent on my computer until I couldn't use it.

Luckily he was able to save my computer and all of the data. I now have a new browser that he swears by; that would have prevented the infection if I would have been using it before. If only.... A few things are different, and blog wise I am woefully behind. But it's a new week, and am optimistic. Here's what I hope to have for you this week.
  • Susan Kearney is supposed to be here for an interview on Thursday 9/10, but since I was not able to send her my questions when I was supposed to that may not happen.
  • I hope to post my review for Annette's Drawn Into Darkness, and possibly give away my ARC if anyone is interested.
  • I will post the winners for the Anne Gracie, and Megan Hart guest posts
  • and hopefully be able to re-gift some of the fabulous awards everyone has bestowed upon SM.

Sorry to hear about your computer. Those viruses can be nasty. I've had a few.

Ugh, I feel you! That happened to my last computer. I got the dreaded blue screen and all.

Unfortunately, I didn't have a BIL who knows anything about computers. It was going to cost me a few hundred to fix it, so it made no sense considering the computer was a bit old.

Hope you enjoy the holiday!!

My FREE Kindle Quest

I've wanted a Kindle for what seems like forever, but haven't been able to afford it (and that's saying something since I can justify the cost of just about ANYTHING that I really want). I've tried winning one in one of the many giveaways that have taken place over the couple of years, but with no luck :( So I've decided to take matters in hand so to speak :) I've now decided that I am going to accumulate enough Swagbucks from my Swabucks searches to buy one...so in essence my new Kindle will be FREE...funded entirely by my internet searches done on Swagbucks. I'll keep you informed of the Great Kindle Quest below (in case you're interested....if not feel free to just skip over this part, but really who wouldn't be interested in a FREE Kindle?)
Goal: $119
Current Swagbucks Amazon Gift Card balance: $90.00
If you'd like to learn how you can earn Swagbucks and earn your own Amazon Gift Cards to buy books, a Kindle or other merchandise sold at Amazon contact me and I would be more than happy to tell you how I plan to go about it. (just so you know you can earn both Amazon.com and Amazon.ca gift cards on this rewards site)
