*This giveaway is now over.  Thanks for entering!***

Well my friends, today I have another great no calorie treat for you all!  The authors from Samhain's newest,  sexy BDSM series...Binding Ties are here for a conversation about their books and views on BDSM.  Skylar Kade contacted me during "Submit to Your Desires" week (if you missed it you can read all of the posts by looking at the archives at the end of July and beginning of August) to tell me about these three new novellas that would be coming out soon and I jumped at the chance to have them as my guests.

I have to admit I am a BDSM romance convert, so if you've never read one thinking you wouldn't like it, that's it's just not your thing...keep an open mind because you might be surprised at all of the great stories you might be missing out on :)  (...and Armenia if you are reading this you've lost your Mistress status since I didn't receive any reciprocal Muse's)

Please give a warm welcome to Skylar Kade, Natasha Moore, and Jenna Ives!!!

Thanks for having us today! We’re the three authors of the Binding Ties anthology: Natasha Moore, Jenna Ives, and Skylar Kade. As erotica writers, we decided to have an open adult chat about sex, bondage, and the female mind.

Skylar Kade: Ladies, if your heroines were stuck on a deserted island with a hot sexy guy, what is the one bondage implement she couldn't do without?

Jenna Ives: For Bella in "The Initiation of Isabella," it would definitely be a blindfold. I mean, how sexy is it when you can't see exactly what delicious fun your guy has in store for you? Oooh, my imagination is running wild just thinking about it, and we all know that the brain is the biggest sex organ we have. Bella is new to the whole blindfold and bondage experience, but my hero Logan um, er, warms her up to the idea pretty quickly!

Natasha Moore: For Jenn, from Bound by Design, a collar would be the last bondage element she’d want to have with her, whether on a desert island or anywhere else. No way. Never again. At least until she meets Scott. His quiet dominance calls to the submissive inside her, making her body come alive with his touch and his commands. So maybe a collar, to signify her commitment, wouldn’t be such a bad idea after all. Skylar, what about you?

SK: If you asked Lara, the heroine of "Maison Domine," she'd unquestionably say wrist cuffs. With a wry smile on her lips, she'd grudgingly admit to the irony of bondage being a freeing experience. It's all in the idea of giving up control, because truly, what is more erotic than having total faith in your partner to bring you pleasure, along with unshakable trust that he or she would never let you come to harm? I get all tingly just thinking about it.

Natasha, oh, a collar! What is Jenn's first reaction to being to blatantly claimed? And Jenna, I had to turn up the AC on that one. What do you think is the sense that is amped up the most when sight is removed by the blindfold?

NM: Actually, the collar is more of a symbol in the story—she's never actually collared. But when she first meets Scott, when he lightly touches her and awakens the need inside her, when he recognizes her as a submissive and asks her if she's worn the collar and cuffs before, she does what any woman would do who doesn't want to repeat past mistakes. She runs.

JI: When my heroine Isabella is blindfolded, she finds her sense of touch is incredibly heightened. Which makes the erotic things Logan does to her body all the more powerful (and pleasurable)!

NM: Skylar, is there a point when your heroine feels those nerves in the pit of her stomach and fears she may have made a mistake by giving up complete control?

SK: Natasha, my heroine is a chemist. Lara’s a little too logical at times, and likes forming conclusions based on tangible evidence. But with something like sex--or love--there's little to quantify. When asked to give up control for the first time, she does panic, but at the same time, there's a part of her mind that sees it as an experiment: Is there something inherently more sexual about dominant men, or has she just been finding all the men who are lousy in bed? By coming at the new experience from that angle, she justifies her subconscious desire for the experience.

JI: Would you girls agree that adding an element of bondage can make intimacy more intense?

SK: Yes, absolutely, adding a bondage element can mix things up. Does that mean I'll ever give up on vanilla sex? No way. Anything that you do all the time becomes boring. Adding BDSM elements simply keeps life a little more interesting. Some days you want vanilla ice cream, and others, you just need that double-chocolate with cookie crumble. Yummy either way, but dull to have either all the time. As my heroine learns, using a toy like wrist cuffs can really heighten the intimacy because of the level of trust required. When added to an already strong relationship foundation, bondage really turns up the eroticism -- both physical and mental.

JI: I agree with you completely that anything we do all the time can become boring, including the same sexual positions. That's why at the end of my story The Initiation Of Isabella, my couple Logan and Bella agree that even though his company Fantasies Fulfilled might have brought them together, from here on out the only fantasies they'd be interested in are ones they make up for themselves!

Taking bonding and exothermic reactions outside the laboratory…
A Binding Ties story.

Organic chemist Lara Brunner is at loose ends. Since childhood, her life has been focused on work and achieving success in her field. Only now, weeks away from her tenure review, she realizes she’s pushed herself too far. Casting about for a way to release her stress-crazed body from career tension, she visits a BDSM retreat, hoping a weekend of sexual submission will do the trick.

Inducting her into the lifestyle is her at-work nemesis—Jaxon Greene. But the sinful intent she encounters in Jaxon’s sexy eyes makes her heart race with desire…and fear. Gorgeous men like him don’t go for zaftig academics like her. Once the fantasy weekend is over and real life returns, he’ll forget all about her.

Jaxon is blindsided by his intense attraction to Lara. The more time he spends with her, the stronger their invisible bonds become. Bonds that are stronger and more permanent than any knot he can tie. He’s not normally into converting vanilla women to his lifestyle, but something makes him want to cast his inhibitions aside and claim her for his own.

First, though, he has to free her from preconceived notions of proper sex…and love.

Warning: This story contains bondage and whips and sexy professors—oh my!

Given the chance, would you dare to indulge your wildest sexual fantasies?

A Binding Ties story.

Isabella Tallin, a brand-spanking new Sigma Iomega Nu sorority pledge, thought she was waiting at the corner of Elm and Main for her initiation rite to begin. She knows these things are notoriously secret affairs, but surely the initiation doesn’t involve a gorgeous guy in a hot red convertible and being bound, gagged, and blindfolded…does it? Only one way to find out…

Logan Sommers can’t believe the innocent-looking girl waiting for him is his mysterious client—a sexually jaded woman who paid his company, Fantasies Fulfilled, to indulge her most outrageous sexual fantasies. But the pickup instructions were clear. He’s never forced himself on anyone in his life, but if she insists on playing the innocent schoolgirl…well, it’s her party.

Then his planned night of seduction takes a turn he never expected…

Warning: You’ll be hot to join this sorority by the end of the story!

He may bind her body, but can he bind her heart?

A Binding Ties story.

Jenn spends her days crafting custom-designed slave jewelry, but wear a collar herself? No, thanks. Been there, done that, burned the T-shirt. That whole Master/slave scene was too much of a roller coaster ride. Then Scott, an architect with a dominant side, enters her life. Something about him makes her body come alive with longings for another taste of the lifestyle.

Scott’s life fell apart when he tried to deny his dominant tendencies. He’s determined to convince Jenn that denying her submissive needs would be a big mistake. Her response is so strong, so sweet, he finds himself falling again and falling apart for the smart and sexy sub.

Suddenly, something he thought he’d never have seems within reach—a forever love tied up in a nice leather bow. But any mention of 24/7 sends Jenn flying away in panic. If any real healing is to take place, he’ll need to take a giant step back and design a new approach using ropes, chains…and a whole lot of trust.

Warning: This title features spanking in the garden, sex in the closet, bondage in the bedroom…and just about everywhere else.

I don't think I've ever read a BDSM romance. Mayber I should broaden my horizons. In the meantime, though, I've left you an award.

No need to enter me, as usual. I'm dropping in to say thanks for the mail. I've got this up at Win a Book for you. (But yep, I do read BDSM romances. What DON'T I read???)

Jenna Ives October 1, 2009 at 1:54 PM

Thanks for your comment in the blog, Carrie ("I have to admit I am a BDSM romance convert")

At heart, all of these stories are sweet romances, they're just tied up (pardon the pun) with a spicy bow!

Ladies, loved your chat on elements of bdsm. I admit after Booklover had "Submit to Your Desires" week back in July, I am now a bdsm romance convert.

The excerpts to each of your novellas were amazingly erotic and sensual. My interest is piqued and I look forward to reading them. Congratulations on your release.

Skylar, in your story Jax is a dom that trains submissives for other doms? How does that work? Really I had no idea since I thought these relationships were somewhat possessive, or is my thinking in error?

Great excerpts that definitely put these books on my wishlist. So great to see others who enjoy this genre and are willing to converse about it.

I admit I had bondage fantasies long before I discovered erotic romance. I'm so glad I did, because then I realized I wasn't alone in my fantasies. And what's more, if I wrote about them, I could delve even deeper into those fantasies.

I love my job! :)

Thanks for having us here today.

Armenia,
There are definitely Doms who will help introduce a submissive into the lifestyle. There is a huge difference between teaching a submissive and being in a relationship with one, mostly in that, as you mentioned, feeling of posession. In my novella, Jax is initially just Lara's guide into the scene, but it grows into far more than that.

Wow, these stories all sound incredible. Really erotic. I'd love to read them all, and might even read them *out loud* to spark some ideas in my SO, lol!

Thanks for the great excerpts!

Armenia, I love your not-so-Freudian e-mail slip!

Julie, good luck inspiring your Significant Other, LOL!

I'm thrilled to be in this sexy anthology with Natasha and Skylar, and as I said earlier today, all these stories are sweet romances at heart, just, um, er, *tied up* with a spicy bow :)

Natasha October 1, 2009 at 7:55 PM

Glad you enjoyed our excerpts. It was our pleasure...really. What's better than a love story with a bit of sizzle??

Armenia October 1, 2009 at 11:21 PM

Skylar, thank you for your answer. I was curious about this aspect of the lifestyle.

My DH was chuckling at me when I mentioned I had the makings of a "Beginners Bondage kit", a blindfold....uh, well, not really, its a sleep-mask from Bath & Bodyworks.*g*

Thank you, Natasha, Skyler, and Jenna. Really looking forward to reading your books and adding to my fantasies.

Jenna, glad you liked my email slip-up.:)

I am a huge fan of BDSM, and although you are all new to me authors, I am for sure a new fan! I am always looking for new books to keep my imagination going, and all three seem to be right up my alley! Thanks for the great interviews, excerpts, and giveaway!

Being tied up, hand-cuffed, and even some submission or dominance definitely excites me, though I've never really explored it. There's just something about giving yourself up to someone as well as being the person in control of someone else that is an interesting prospect.
