Broken is so much more than an erotic romance. Megan Hart takes you on a thought compelling journey, and if one sentence would summarize what Sadie experiences in this book it would be this, "...I'd never know the woman I'd have been if I hadn't met Adam. Until I met Joe, I hadn't wondered. Who was I now?"
Megan Hart has a true gift to make you feel and understand what the characters are going through, and why they do the things that they do. You feel Sadie's despair, disappointments, hopes, her sense of betrayal, her guilt, her love and hatred for her husband.
Joe's erotic stories feeds the need that Sadie has, after a void is left following her husbands accident leaving him paralyzed. After a few stories you can sense that Joe is changing every month, until you realize he is falling in love with Sadie. I know it is strange to say but you learn that he is falling in love with her through his sexual encounters with the other women. What? you may say, unbelievable as that may sound, it is true.
It is a definite tear-jerker, but am SO glad that I read this book. Thought provoking and erotic, though the encounters between Sadie and Joe only happen towards the end of their story. Can't say enough about Megan Hart as an author. She is unlike most authors in her genre. My next read for Megan Hart will be her new release "Stranger".
