Feature and Giveaway: Raising Kane by Lorelei James

Tuesday, June 29

***This giveaway has ended, but you should still read the post...it's worth your time:)  Thanks for joining the fun!***

One of my favorite Lorelei James books (I love them all, but do have a few favorites) is TIED UP, TIED DOWN.  While it's Sky and Kade's love story it's also where we get a good introduction to our hero today, Kane McKay. In TIED UP, TIED DOWN Kane is still in his love' em and leave' em stage....a player and complete hedonist. He's earned every bit of his bad boy McKay reputation and then some. But he's no longer the same man he used to be.  His personal journey to become a different man has been an evolution across many of the books in the Rough Riders series and today's the day we all will finally get to read his love story in RAISING KANE!

Are you all as excited about this book as I am?  If you don't know what I'm talking about...let me tell you you've been missing out in a BIG way!  Read on and enjoy...I think you'll see why I dedicated this week's Muse to cowboy love.

She surrendered the reins. Now he’s raising the stakes.

Rough Riders, Book 9

When a patch of ice sends attorney Ginger Paulson head-over-high-heels down a flight of stairs, she has no one to care for her young son and her invalid father—until lethally sexy Kane McKay shows up at the hospital, determined to prove his cowboy chivalry. Past experience has inoculated her against take-charge men, but even Ginger isn’t immune to Kane’s invasive charm and Built Ford Tough body.

For two years rancher Kane McKay has followed the Little Buddies mentoring program’s cardinal rule—hands off his Little Buddy Hayden’s mama. But one look at Ginger’s bruised body and Kane is through watching the stubborn woman take care of everyone but herself. The feisty, curvy redhead needs his help, and he’ll give her the hands-on type whether she likes it or not.

After Kane throws out doctor’s orders and issues his own demands—her full sexual submission—Ginger realizes Kane’s caring nature extends beyond just fulfilling her physical needs.

Can the former hell-raiser convince the gun-shy single mom to look beyond his past…toward a shared future?

Warning: Contains one sweet and hot hunk of cowboy manflesh who uses every sexual trick in the book to render a sassy, fast-talking attorney speechless and put a new twist on the term “binding arbitration”.

Congratulations Lorelei, from one of your many loyal fans!   Thank you so much for the books that you write and keeping up with your crazy writing schedule (and I mean crazy) to continuously feed our insatiable addiction for your books!

If you've not had the pleasure of reading one of Lorelei's novels written as either Lorelei James, or Lori Armstrong, you can find more about her on her websites www.loreleijames.com, or www.loriarmstrong.com, or if you are brave enough you can join her Yahoo Group :)  I also highly recommend checking out her Extras page because it contains all sorts of goodies, like Author's Notes, McKay & West family trees, a Rough Rider Timeline (which I find helpful) and a free short story.

Today we're going to have a massive LJ party!  To celebrate the release of RAISING KANE, Lorelei has offered to giveaway one signed print book from her backlist AND one ebook copy from her backlist....and because I love her books so much I am offering to giveaway an ebook of the winners choice (including the new release RAISING KANE as long as it's available from All Romance ebooks since they allow you to gift them) to one winner as a Seductive Musings "readers rewards".  So that's one print winner and two ebook winners...Yee-haw!  Here's how you can enter to win:

I don't use Amazon to earn money, I use it because the widgets are cool, easy to use, and serve my purposes to showcase books & such with minimal effort, but most importantly they have great prices and offer both new and used items. I've only heard great things about Lorelei's, Rough Riders series.

- Cowboys are seductive because their sex appeal feels so organic. Men. Land. Animals. Sweat.

What's not to love about cowboys..those bodies come from hard work (which I find really sexy) vs a gym, they usually have manners, short on words & long on action...Good gravy.

I have all the RR except the newest which I'll be buying here soon...

The thing that makes cowboys seductive is they're hard working, in touch with nature, intelligent, and good with their hands.

What is so seductive about a Cowboy? He is loyal, hard-working, strong, knows how to treat a lady, and is good with his hands; just to name a few.

Form is completed.

I love the Rough Riders. I'm up to book 7 (Cam's story) and I had no idea a new one was being released so this was a pleasant surprise.

Cowboys work outside all the time so they always seem so earthy to me.

Yeehaww!! Lorelei, congratulations on the release of Raising Kane. I just love the McKay brothers and can't wait to read Kane's story.

I love cowboys because a true cowboy always exudes charm and warmth. Their hard chiseled muscles are made from hard work, and when they're hot and sweaty its downright intoxicating. Oh, and when they drawl "darlin'" its enough to get your panties in a twist. hehehe

Congrats Lorelei on your newest release. I guess I've been under a rock because I haven't read any of the Rough Rider books yet :( But after these smoking excerpts that all changes. I'm loving Kane already and to think he has brothers. :)
Cowboys are so seductive to me because they are so Alpha in their lives. Hard workers, loyal, respectful and always seem to help anyone who needs it. Not to mention the shoulder width and snug fit of their jeans. Oh yeah.... :)And those beautiful muscled thighs from all that riding.

Wow good question. I'm having my own cowboy issue mostly that he lives in Florida and I'm in Texas grrr
But there's the whole southern gentleman part the denim the respectful but rough nature and then there's the he makes me gooey inside part. Le sigh.
Oh and his thighs mmmmm

I think that should do it lol and form is filled in

Lea June 30, 2010 at 5:16 PM

Well certainly Lorelei's cowboys are Alpha and uber hot, which i a plus in my book. I love her work!

I would say it's a cowboy's rugged strength and affinity with nature that also attracts me in a romance.

Thanks Booklover, Great post thanks for hosting!

Mitzi H. July 1, 2010 at 3:35 AM

The calluses on their hands…..The way their backsides look in Wranglers with Chaps….Their boots…Hehehe.

I think I love cowboy stories because they represent a strong (traditional) type male that is confident, strong and independent (comfortable in their skin so-to-speak) and yet loving and family oriented.

I know it’s just a fantasy…..but a fantasy I love to cherish!!!!

I filled out the form and loved the excerpts!!!
