Sorry, but it's just me today...and a few Butlers in the Buff
Friday, September 24
I know you all were expecting author M.A. Ellis to be here today, and so was I, but unfortunately due to a scheduling snafu with her publicist we had to cancel. Hopefully I'll have a reschedule date for us soon.
So today what you get is me :) It's been awhile I know. I was going through my blog posts recently and realized that they have really only been comprised of Monday's Muses, guest authors, reviews and winners. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but being a Friday and all I thought it should be just a relaxing day.
I spent quite a bit of my free time on Google reader yesterday trying to get my unread posts below the 1000+ mark. Yes that's right it lost track after I had surpassed over 1000 unread posts. It all started back in August with all of the guests I had...something had to give and that was one of them. I'm happy to report that I am now at only 861 unread posts :) Woo hoo! That's almost cause for celebration.
As I was going through there were quite a few websites that I hadn't had recent updates for and found that the feed link was broken or some such...have you had this happen to you? So I fixed those, and deleted some that I find all I do when I get behind is mark them as read...why keep them if I don't read them. I really should have been doing other things but it was bothering me that I could be missing out on something really good by putting it off any longer. I procrastinate that way. It's a bad habit, one that I've tried to stop doing many many times in my life but in all honesty I think this is one thing that will probably never change.
Anyways....if you stuck with me through all of that you deserve a reward :) I have something for you that made me laugh when I first saw it on another website (doing Muse research of course). It was for a business called Butlers in the Buff. Have you heard of it? It's a company based in the UK that offers hunky men scantily dressed in aprons and bow ties to serve cocktails (no pun intended) and food at your next special event. Don't believe me....
This picture was taken at a Hen's night party, which I gather is much like a bachelorette party here in the US. And in case you didn't notice those aren't long aprons their wearing either...
All of these women seem to be enjoying themselves don't you think...and I think the one on the far right is getting quite an eyeful if the expression on her face is any indication :) In fact it has become so popular in the UK that the company is offering global franchises. Me, I'm liking this idea A LOT!
I found this video that tells more about it, and thought it was fun for a Friday, you know just a good bit of fun to start the weekend out right...
( I thought the video was going to work but it's late and I'm tired so I left it in even though you have to view it on Youtube)
What about you? Would you hire Butlers in the Buff? Personally I think it's great! I think they would be a great addition to the next Romance Conference like RomCon or something don't you? And for anyone outside of the US who has had the opportunity to experience Butlers in the Buff or know someone who has I'd love to hear your tales...spill the goods, we're all friends here at SM.
p.s. I just saw that the Butlers have landed! They are in fact in the US in the Orlando area. If you live there I would love to know if you've seen/used them. They look pretty delicious! You can find more about them here, but I have to say that the UK site is more fun.

My Mother lives in England she is going to be 90 in February 2011 @ my niece's wedding 10 years ago she had all men waiters at her HEN night My mother is the most prudish woman on the face of the earth you mention Max's HEN night she become this sex vixen, Although she has trouble remembering things She has photographic memory of that night and what the men looked said or did LOL... I wish I had been there.
I think it will catch on,,& yeah that lass got quite an eyeful.
good start for FRIDAY.
Have a good one Ann.
I'm far from disappointed it's just you..You come up w/ some of the most interesting tidbits..
I love this idea & if I had the chance & $, I'd hire them. What fun!!
Hey Ann,
LOL, that story about your mother is hilarious! Especially since it sounds like it was out of character for her :)
Were the men waiters at your niece's Hen night from Butlers in the Buff? Even if not I still like the idea ;) Good looking me dressed or not (especially in a kilt right?) are not to be missed for any reason!
Thanks for sharing your story.
Hiya Ivy,
You're so sweet :) I'm glad you weren't disappointed....I thought the butlers would just sweeten the deal though.
I have a few more post ideas of an amusing nature up my sleeve that I've been saving for just the right time. You may be seeing more of them in October and November.
And me, I'd hire them too if I could. I think the next best thing though would be for them to be included in my next blog anniversary celebrations :)
I would love to hire them, but I would make a fool out of myself giggling. Good looking nearly naked men fluster me.
I love it! The only thing better would be Gerard Butler in the buff :).
I would hire them if I were hosting a party.
Great post! I'm not catching it until the evening, but is certainly a fun one to destress fromt he daily work stuff with ;).
I'd never heard of Butlers in the Buff until your post. It is indeed a unique concept and looks like a fun one.
I don't know if I would giggle the whole time ape2016, but I definitely think I would have a big grin on my face the entire time :) And I know how you feel, I too used to be flustered around good looking men, but somehow I think I might have finally outgrown that...either that or I just don't encounter that many good looking men as often :) Something I will have to ponder...
Oooooh Helen,
Gerard as a buff butler would be the ULTIMATE! I am so with you on that one. He should auction off his services for an event with Butlers in the Buff for Charity....I can see it now.
Butler butlers in the buff for a cause!
Wouldn't that be worth the price...matter of fact it would be priceless!
Pam and Jane,
If I ever have a party and hire them you'll definitely be invited :)
And I think you are right Pam, reading about Butlers in the Buff is the perfect way to end a stressful week. I'm glad I could provide a little bit of entertainment for you :) Have a great weekend!
Hey honey, you are too funny! I love ya hon! And oh wow, what a post to have!!!!!!! LOL!!!!
I hope you had a great Friday and have a wonderful weekend! Oh and anytime you want a butler party, you let me know!
Hey "Just You" can come by anytime...LOL..
This is the greates thing. I think I need to see if I can find some investors and get this in Canada.. If it is not already here.. I could make a mint...
You're on Cecile!
Kathleen,
I think that is a fabulous idea! I see you rolling in the dough in no time :) I would most certainly cross the border to attend an event with your butlers.
Hi - just visiting via Christina Philips' page. I like the idea of Butlers in the Buff. Great fun!
