New Release: How to Woo a Reluctant Lady

Thursday, January 20

Sabrina Jeffries's newest book in the Hellions of Halstead Hall series, How to Woo a Reluctant Lady was released this week.  I have the first two books in my what did I do?  I got How to Woo this week...because if you have the first two sitting in the TBR shouldn't you also have the third? I think so.

I know you all agree with me even though it adds to my TBR problem. That's why we're kindred book spirits :)  Here's Sabrina talking about her new book....

When a charming rogue proposes she marry him to meet her grandmother's ultimatum, the Sharpe clan's strong-willed sister makes a tempting counter-offer that preserves her inheritance and ignites his imagination.

Lady Minerva Sharpe has the perfect plan to thwart her grandmother's demands: become engaged to a rogue! Surely Gran would rather release her inheritance than see her wed a scoundrel. And who better to play the part of Minerva's would-be husband than wild barrister Giles Masters, the very inspiration for the handsome spy in the popular Gothic novels she writes? The memory of his passionate kiss on her nineteenth birthday has lingered in Minerva's imagination, though she has no intention of really falling for such a rakehell, much less marrying him. Little does she know, he really is a covert government operative. When they team up to investigate the mystery behind her parents' deaths, their fake betrothal leads to red-hot desire. Then Minerva discovers Giles's secret double life, and he must use all the cunning tricks of his trade to find his way back into her heart.

I'm so looking forward to reading this because:

1. I love the series so far.
2. I want to read Minerva's story as she is the oldest girl and may present a different view of the parents' death.
3. Giles Masters is Paul Marron, my favorite cover model, even if his chest is mostly covered by Sabrina's name.

@Sheree: I have to agree with you on Paul Marron....RAWR! Although, some of the covers he has been appearing on with long hair, I just don't know about.

This series rocks! Minerva is going to be a sassy handful for Giles, and I can't wait to see how he handles her. To find out he really is a double agent. SQUEE!

Part of the reason my TBR pile is so big are the series I am getting. I prefer not to start a series until I have them all so I can read straight through. It keeps the characters and the story arc fresh and I think makes for a better read. This is a series I look forward to reading.

I did the exact same thing. I have books 1 & 2 sitting on my Nook just waiting for me so when I got the promo card in the mail I went and bought the 3rd.

I'd hate for it to feel left out.

Sheree you're making me wish I could start reading them TODAY!

Booklover1335 January 20, 2011 at 10:53 AM

I'm definitely going to have to check out Paul Marron. I don't think I'm familiar with him, but obviously since you and Sheree are of like minds then I've been missing out. Could we have a new Muse to look forward to? Ah, the things I do for you to do some Paul research :)

You know, I tend to like to do that too, especially when the books are released so closely together. I guess that's one good thing about having a TBR right?

Yep we are kindred book spirits my friend. I hope you enjoy looks as if both of us have a lot to look forward to.

You can't only read part of the series you must read all of it. And of course once you read book 1 you'll want to start book 2 and lucky you will be able to go right on to Minerva's story without having to wait months like the rest of us who didn't have the self control & wisdom you showed :)

My copy is on the way & I'm hoping it's here for the weekend reading. Really looking forward to it as I already think Minerva & Giles are great from the prior books. :)

I hope your book gets there in time for the weekend Gamistress!

You and Sheree are really not good for my reading plan for the rest of the month because now I just want to be able to read all three back to back just like you said :)

I'm so excited about this book. Got my copy today. I can't wait to read how Minerva lead Giles around.

You have to read these books when you get a chance. They are a hoot. I love the whole family.

Ing you're making me cry a little inside because there is no WAY I can possibly pull them out of the TBR until March :( Dang it!

Enjoy, and if you really love it wait until March or so to tell me so that way it's not eating at me until I can read them :)
