Friday Fun

Friday, April 15

So, on this fabulous Friday I thought I would post some of the fun things I found while blogging this week:

First we have Charlotte Bronte on Twitter :)  I found this while preparing the Eileen Dreyer post about plain Jane's and loved it!  You can create your own Charlotte quote by filling in the blank and posting to Twitter.  While I don't really do Twitter that much I thought this was a ton of fun.  If you post something, please post it  here in the comments as well so that we can all enjoy!

Then I saw this book video that I thought was all kinds of fun and new I just had to include it in today's post.  It is for Sarah MacLean's upcoming historical romance Eleven Scandals to Start to Win a Duke's Heart.  I guarantee it will at least put a smile on your face :)  It actually made me more than smile it made me chuckle...and want to read the book, like now!

Then I also saw that Eloisa James has a novella freebie on Amazon, but it doesn't release until April, 26th so you can only pre-order it.  I found this a little perplexing, because if it was free why it wasn't available now and only for preorder?   Maybe it won't be free for long.  I don't know, but I snagged it right away.  The cover is also different than it was yesterday too...a mystery.  Anyways, the title is A Fool Again, and was her novella in the anthology The One That Got Away with Cathy Maxwell , Liz Carlyle, & Victoria Alexander.  I checked the other novellas in the Kindle store and they only appear in the anthology and not individually so it looks like this will be a promotional tool since the publisher is releasing the anthology in Kindle version on May 11th.

p.s. Eloisa has said that this novella has one of her very favorite first lines:
"A well-bred lady never ogles a man from behind her black veil, especially during her husband's burial."

Finally, who doesn't love a contest with lots of giveaways?  The "Danger:  Women Writing Contest" begins today with lots of prizes including an e-reader, books, gift cards....I don't need to know more to know that I will be making a stop there every day!

Do you have something fun to share this Friday that you came across this week?  Feel free to share in the comments!  Have a great weekend!

*I am an Amazon affiliate and receive a small (and I mean very small) referral fee for purchases made using a link on this blog. I don't use Amazon to earn money, I use it because the widgets are cool, easy to use, and serve my purposes to showcase books & such with minimal effort, but most importantly they have great prices and offer both new and used items. As a book addict I love that I can find just about anything I want in one place. If you are going to purchase a featured book anyway, and you know you won't pay more by using the links on this blog than you would by visiting Amazon on your own, I will be eternally grateful for supporting this blog by using the links, and don't forget that the referral fees from your purchases will sponsor the "Reader Rewards" giveaways :)

My FREE Kindle Quest

I've wanted a Kindle for what seems like forever, but haven't been able to afford it (and that's saying something since I can justify the cost of just about ANYTHING that I really want). I've tried winning one in one of the many giveaways that have taken place over the couple of years, but with no luck :( So I've decided to take matters in hand so to speak :) I've now decided that I am going to accumulate enough Swagbucks from my Swabucks searches to buy in essence my new Kindle will be FREE...funded entirely by my internet searches done on Swagbucks. I'll keep you informed of the Great Kindle Quest below (in case you're interested....if not feel free to just skip over this part, but really who wouldn't be interested in a FREE Kindle?)
Goal: $119
Current Swagbucks Amazon Gift Card balance: $90.00
If you'd like to learn how you can earn Swagbucks and earn your own Amazon Gift Cards to buy books, a Kindle or other merchandise sold at Amazon contact me and I would be more than happy to tell you how I plan to go about it. (just so you know you can earn both and gift cards on this rewards site)
