Monday's Muse...I cheated on Jed

Monday, June 20

Sorry, but the image containing the Monday's Muse has been removed from this blog so as not to violate any copyright issues.  Thanks for your understanding!

This past weekend I cheated on my bookcover lover Jed Hill, with a relative of his and I don't even know his name :0   I'm talking about my new booklover cover obessesion, the third book in Jaci Burton's Play by Play series, Taking a Shot.  Have you seen it in it's OMG-ness? is....OMG Ah-mazing.  It puts Jed Hill's cover on The Perfect Play to shame....yes, shame!  If you don't believe me, take a look at it here.  I did feel kind of bad about cheating, which is why I thought Jed should be our Muse this week.  After all he is still damn fine...playing his instrument (to perfection no doubt).

If you hadn't noticed, I had a bit of an unexpected blogging hiatus last week.  My internet was getting slower and slower to the extent that pages were timing out instead of loading...and I have high speed cable internet.  Something was wrong.  So I called my cable company and after 45 min on the phone they decided to send a technician out to find out what was wrong.  The good thing is, is that he was on time.  The bad thing was I don't think he knew what he was doing because after proclaiming it fixed, after a day or so it became even worse (which I didn't think was possible).  Anyways, I finally went out and bought a new modem (which I didn't want to have to do), but thankfully it fixed the problem and I'm back!  Finally :)

Over the weekend I started to watch Carnal Innocence that was on Lifetime....and the acting was so awful, that I couldn't finish it.  I hadn't read the book, and if the TV movie was anything like the book, I don't think I'll bother with that either.  I have to admit, I've never really been a Nora Roberts fan.  I know a lot of people are, and my Mother loves her, but for me the one or two that I read were a little light on the romance for my tastes.

I also went to a local art fair and bought a print with fish.  Once I get it framed, and maybe re-matted I'll post a picture of the picture.  I really love it.  We also feed some pretzel to the ducks (or at least tried to) at the park that held the art fair...apparently ducks don't like pretzels.  I thought that since they were bread like that they would gobble it up, but no.  Who knew :)

This week at Seductive Musings:
  • Tuesday:  Review for The Soldier by Grace Burrowes, and if I have time Just Like Heaven by Julia Quinn
  • Wednesday:  Erotic Romance author Karen Erickson will by my guest to celebrate her first historical romance, Lessons in Indiscretion.
  • Thursday:  Historical Romance legend, Jane Feather will be at Seductive Musings to celebrate her newest novel, A Wedding Wager
  • Friday:  a Lendle giveaway.  What's that you ask?  You'll have to come back on Friday to find out.
  • Tempting Trailer:  My tempting trailer this week is for Kate Douglas's Wolf Tales 12.  If I'm not mistaken this is the final book in the Wolf Tales series :(
     Also of Interest:
    • I don't have anything to report here because I am waaaaay behind on my blog readings since I wasn't able to get online much last week.  If there is anything you'd like to share feel free to post it in the comments.

Finally, I'd like to congratulate all of the authors will new releases this week!

Every one is talking about the cover of Jaci's upcoming release. I saw a clip of "Carnal Innocence" and it looked pretty bad so I didn't watch.

I am a cover junkie and the cover of Taking A Shot took my breath away. It is so gorgeous and one of my all time faves.

    Hey Jane,

Is it really any wonder that everyone is talking about Jaci's new cover. It is really fabulous. I hope she does postcards and posters for this one too. Makes me feel kind of bad for the Changing the Game cover since it is just....ok, compared to these other two.

I am with you, Taking a Shot is my favorite cover so far this year!

    Hi Under the Covers,

Welcome! I'm so glad you found me :) Jed's been a Muse a few times. If you look at the Muse label I'm sure you will find quite a bit more to love *grin* I need to read this series too, as well as check out your blog. Thank you so much for stopping by!

I agree that TAKING A SHOT is the best cover by far in the series. But heck, what a trifecta of hotties! WOW! Let us know as soon as you find out who the cover model is.

Yep, WOLF TALES 12 is the last one in that series.

Off to help Jed play his instrument.....

I've wanted a Kindle for what seems like forever, but haven't been able to afford it (and that's saying something since I can justify the cost of just about ANYTHING that I really want). I've tried winning one in one of the many giveaways that have taken place over the couple of years, but with no luck :( So I've decided to take matters in hand so to speak :) I've now decided that I am going to accumulate enough Swagbucks from my Swabucks searches to buy in essence my new Kindle will be FREE...funded entirely by my internet searches done on Swagbucks. I'll keep you informed of the Great Kindle Quest below (in case you're interested....if not feel free to just skip over this part, but really who wouldn't be interested in a FREE Kindle?)
    Goal: $119
Current Swagbucks Amazon Gift Card balance: $90.00
If you'd like to learn how you can earn Swagbucks and earn your own Amazon Gift Cards to buy books, a Kindle or other merchandise sold at Amazon contact me and I would be more than happy to tell you how I plan to go about it.
