Guest Author & Giveaway: Dianne Venetta featuring Jennifer's Garden

Wednesday, July 20

A good kiss is a very heady thing.  I mean....yeah...a great kiss can leave you breathless, with your brain scrambled, and weak in the knees.  Even reading about a great kiss in a romance can give you a rush (at least it does me).

One of the things that I initially found intriguing about Lora Leigh's Breeds series was that magical elixir and aphrodisiac that the Breeds kisses contained...that made them irresistible to their mate.  Their kisses were addictive and left their mate craving more.  Who knew that there was actual science behind that idea!  Author Dianne Venetta is my guest today to share her thoughts about the "Power of a Kiss" and share a bit about her new e-book Jennifer's Garden.  Read and enjoy!

The Power of a Kiss

I recently read there is a scientific reason why kissing turns a woman's knees to pudding (make mine chocolate).  It's all in the delivery.  More than the wisp of breath against your cheek, the promise of things to come whispered in your ear followed by the graze of his lips against yours, it seems kissing that tall dark handsome man of yours is more than romantic—he's slipping in a secret weapon with his tongue.

He's sharing a known libido stimulant for men and women alike.  Turns out male saliva contains testosterone and when your lips are locked in an everlasting smooch, he's delivering the goods to you! (You can thank him later.)  And not only that, but kissing floods the bloodstream with dopamine, stimulating the brain with a natural high.

Are you still with me?  Because it only gets better. Getting up close and personal with your man keeps your heart healthy, too, by keeping the cholesterol in check.  So next time anyone asks why you read those steamy novels, you tell them it's for your health. Then close the door and flip over the "do not disturb" sign.

Because read you will—read you must!—and nothing or no one will stop you.  Have they never enjoyed a seductive romance of their own?  Never lost themselves to the fantasy of "what if" or the pleasure of "take me now?"

Poor souls.  Romance novels speak to the heart of human experience.  Nothing is more primal than the attraction between the sexes.  And nothing more delicious.  Whether it be the temptation of the impossible facing the heroine in my current novel JENNIFER’S GARDEN, or the challenge of "how far can we go before someone gets hurt" for the heroine in my next, lust is one of the most powerful facts of life—physically, emotionally and scientifically!

So enjoy your seductive musings and relish the desire coursing through your veins.  It's good for you. And good for your man if he knows what's good for him!

In a race against time, cardiologist Jennifer Hamilton is caught between her mother’s dying wish and taking the risk of a lifetime with Jackson Montgomery. He’s the man hired to complete the landscaping for her new home; the venue for her upcoming wedding. He’s everything she never wanted in a man, but as the job progresses, his lure pulls strong. It’s an attraction she cannot deny.

And one that puts her career on the line.

True story. My most memorable kiss was when I was dating this guy that was just a little bit older than me. We were on a date and he went to kiss me. He kissed my eyes, then my nose, then my jaw. He asked if I was ever "really" kissed before and I said no. He proceeded to kiss just about every part of my face and neck and shoulders before he actually kissed my lips. By that time I was trembling and just about ready to.....well you know. It was the best kiss I ever had to this day.
PS: I'm also a GFC follower.

I am a follower and email subscriber. Fiction. My most memorable kiss would be we are at a cabin and there is a warm fireplace that we are sitting in front of side by side listening to soft music. The lights are dim and there is candlight. He reaches for me and pulls me into his arms. He trails kiss all over my face down to my neck and then kisses me gently on the lips. Softly at first and more passionately. Please enter me in contest.

I really liked the sound of the blurb on this. Also, thank you for sharing that enlightening post. It was pretty interesting - and good stuff to know ;).

It would be when an ex who had been gone out of town decided to come home early. He hid at a friend's place and had the friend get me to come over. As soon as knocked the door was swung open and I was swept up and kissed quit thoroughly. He said he couldn't wait another day without a kiss. It was sweet.

My most memeorable kiss was when I was 15. It was my first kiss with my first real boyfriend and he had just had a vanilla milkshake. I swear I can still taste that kiss from 11 years ago. Everytime I eat vanilla icecream I think about that kiss... just dont tell my husband. LOL

My most memorable kiss was when I was 16 (and very inexperienced). It was at a public swimming pool underneath the life guard's chair. I was so amazed how this boy didn't care that he kissed me in public and it was our first kiss. I even remember the boy's name 30 years later (and no we never had sex - just a few dates)!

Those Alpha males tend to be unforgettable, don't they? Course I like them, Alpha, Beta and most everywhere in between -- so long as they can kiss!

Thank you for the extended excerpt. Sounds like the perfect book for those hot summer nights. It is a shame that what we are so often gets in the way of who we are and how we can relate to others.

Interesting post. Now we understand a little of why kissing and what often follows is good for our health, most of the time.

I look forward to reading JENNIFER'S GARDEN.
