This Makes My Heart Happy...

Friday, August 12

First, things have been incredibly busy this week so I'm running a bit behind schedule which means I will have reviews for you later today and into the weekend.  So in the meantime, just so you know I haven't forgotten you all, here is a video I saw on the news last night that brought a few tears to my eyes...especially after the horrific news of the death of so many of our soldiers this week.

Does anyone know the cable show that is referenced in the news broadcast?  I don't watch too much TV, but I could see myself watching the show Brian Williams describes.  Anyway, Happy Friday!  I didn't think it would ever get here :)

What an an awesome story! I think they are referring to Coming Home on Lifetime.

I'm glad you liked the video too ChrisS. And thanks for the reference, I'm going to have to check that show out. Sometimes you need a little bit of heartwarming news ya know?

I have seen this on the news several times and it brings a smile every time. Only those who have had their husbands gone in that situation can know the peace it gives your heart to have them home safely. Kudos to the daughters for helping set this up, Most of the time the surprise is for the children. Nice to see it be the wife's turn.

My FREE Kindle Quest

I've wanted a Kindle for what seems like forever, but haven't been able to afford it (and that's saying something since I can justify the cost of just about ANYTHING that I really want). I've tried winning one in one of the many giveaways that have taken place over the couple of years, but with no luck :( So I've decided to take matters in hand so to speak :) I've now decided that I am going to accumulate enough Swagbucks from my Swabucks searches to buy in essence my new Kindle will be FREE...funded entirely by my internet searches done on Swagbucks. I'll keep you informed of the Great Kindle Quest below (in case you're interested....if not feel free to just skip over this part, but really who wouldn't be interested in a FREE Kindle?)
Goal: $119
Current Swagbucks Amazon Gift Card balance: $90.00
If you'd like to learn how you can earn Swagbucks and earn your own Amazon Gift Cards to buy books, a Kindle or other merchandise sold at Amazon contact me and I would be more than happy to tell you how I plan to go about it. (just so you know you can earn both and gift cards on this rewards site)
