Friday Freebies

Friday, October 28

Did you miss me?  Did you even realize I've been gone a few days ? LOL.  Yeah, I had some computer issues so I wasn't able to get online like I had planned.  Anyways, I hope to be able to post a few reviews later today if I can get my a*@ in gear :)

In the meantime I thought I would share some of the freebie Amazon books I've downloaded this week (which more than likely will languish in my digital TBR) in case you hadn't noticed them yet.  There are also quite a few deals going on for Halloween including a surprise B&N discount at checkout that could be anywhere from 15-50% off.  I might check that one out myself :)

There were quite a few Ellora's Cave that popped up recently.  These have been hit or miss for me, but for free...I'm willing to check them out and try out some new to me authors.  There is also the Lucky Harbor cookbook by Jill Shalvis.  Very cute, and I've actually tried one of the recipes, the Good Morning Sunshine Casserole.  Super easy, and everyone loved it, though not exactly diet friendly :)  I also got one mystery which is a deviation for me, but it was by Lori Armstrong (aka Lorelei of my fav authors) and this series is supposed to be excellent. In the past I tried to get the book at my library but couldn't even get it as an interlibrary loan so I was super excited to be able to try this series!

All in all it was a good freebie week.  Did you get any freebies this week you'd like to share?  I'd be curious to know what was offered at B&N this week because I believe that they have a free book each Friday?  And while we are at it, do you read freebies right away?  And have they gotten you to purchase any other books by the author?

Hope you have a good weekend, and make sure you check out the never know there may be a surprise or two...not to mention some really great reads :)

Thanks for the heads up! Other than downloading a few from your list above, I've also downloaded the following:

1. A Touch of Greek by Tina Folsom (loved her Scanguard Vampires series, so I jumped at the chance to get the first book in her Out of Olympus series for free since I haven't read it yet)

2. Hollowland by Amanda Hocking (this has lots of good reviews and I've heard great things about this author but haven't read anything by her yet, so it's awesome to get this as a freebie)

3. All I Want for Christmas is You by Lisa Mondello (I think this would be a good read for the holiday season)

4. Jenny Pox by JL Bryan (from reviews, there are elements of horror in this)

I tend to download freebies that have a fair number of fairly good reviews unless something really catches my attention. As for reading them right away, I don't really unless it's a book I'm really excited about. Otherwise, they usually all go on my virtual TBR pile for now.

Happy Reading! :)

Of course we missed you! :D

Now you've done it. I just had to go and "buy" most of the books you had listed. Many of them were on B&N for free as well, though a couple were fullprices there and I had to get it from Amazon to get it for free. I don't like getting them from Amazon because then I have to read them on my Kindle App on the computer. B&N books I can read on my NOOK. Oh well. :D Looks like a lot of good ones though!

They'll sit in my TBR for a while though, especially since my "pile" is already a toppling mountain (both in real life and the virtual world). But it's nice to stock up when they are free or at a good price. :)

My FREE Kindle Quest

I've wanted a Kindle for what seems like forever, but haven't been able to afford it (and that's saying something since I can justify the cost of just about ANYTHING that I really want). I've tried winning one in one of the many giveaways that have taken place over the couple of years, but with no luck :( So I've decided to take matters in hand so to speak :) I've now decided that I am going to accumulate enough Swagbucks from my Swabucks searches to buy in essence my new Kindle will be FREE...funded entirely by my internet searches done on Swagbucks. I'll keep you informed of the Great Kindle Quest below (in case you're interested....if not feel free to just skip over this part, but really who wouldn't be interested in a FREE Kindle?)
Goal: $119
Current Swagbucks Amazon Gift Card balance: $90.00
If you'd like to learn how you can earn Swagbucks and earn your own Amazon Gift Cards to buy books, a Kindle or other merchandise sold at Amazon contact me and I would be more than happy to tell you how I plan to go about it. (just so you know you can earn both and gift cards on this rewards site)
