Monday's Muse

Monday, November 28

Sorry, but the image containing the Monday's Muse has been removed from this blog so as not to violate any copyright issues.  Thanks for your understanding!

Did you all survive the holiday weekend?  I did, but barely.  I was one of those crazy stupid people that shopped on both Thursday, Friday...and let's not forget Saturday and Sunday.  Yeah.  Don't even go there because I know...crazy stupid!  I wish I would have had this week's Muse to coax me back to bed @ 4:30 in the morning after only getting to bed @ 1 am.  I would have been a much more pleasant person to live with :)

My intention was to go on Thursday to get the few things that I had to get in a store and do the rest of the shopping online...but somehow that didn't work all.  Then on Thursday my cell phone completely crapped out on me so I had to replace it (which I hate!).  Which also meant on Saturday I had to go to the mall and stalk people to get a parking space in order to wait forever in the cell phone store, only to be given the choice of two less than stellar cell phones to replace what I had.

I use my cell phone as a necessary evil and just can bring myself to pay the $$$ for a smart phone contract.  It's not the cell phone price itself that stuns me (because I could have gotten a smart phone cheaper than what I paid for the lesser phone that I ended up with)'s what it would cost me each month to have it.  I just can't do it.  Do you view your cell phone bill like any other utility cost and just pay what it costs?  Is the convenience really worth what you pay for it?  How much do you pay? (if you don't mind my asking)

As a final thought, I've used this Muse before (back in blog baby days), but sometimes you can't have too much of a good thing, right?  Do you have a favorite Muse you would like to see again?  Should I have voting for favorite Muse of the year in December, or not?

This week at Seductive Musings:
  • Tuesday-Thursday:  will be catch up days ;)  I think I have some winners to announce, some email to respond to, some reviews to post...and maybe a few other things that I didn't get done last week.
  • Friday:  Author Jill Shalvis will be my guest to celebrate the release of the third book in her Lucky Harbor series, Head Over Heels.  Jill won a RITA award for the first book in the series, Simply Irresistible (which I happened to love love love).  Her blog is also one of my favorite daily stops so I'm pretty excited that she will be here this week!
  • Tempting Trailer:  This week's Tempting Trailer is A Lady Awakened by Cecilia Grant which releases on December 27th of this year.  I received a copy of this book for review via the Amazon Vine program and have to say I'm looking forward to reading it

Finally, I'd like to congratulate all of the authors will new releases this week, especially Musings authors Larissa Ione, Jill Shalvis, Lilli Feisty, & Karen Erickson!  Congrats ladies!!!

Your holiday sounds a bit like mine; chaotic, full of bad luck, etc. Though I didn't go shopping on Friday. Wait, let me rephrase. I happened to go into a local Wal-Mart in my small town late afternoon on Friday looking for a part to fix my toliet, but wasn't in there longer than 5 minutes. It was crazy though, even in our little area!

I don't do contracts either with the phone. I do the pre-pay type, and put so much on it every month through Verizon. I rarely use mine, ever, and I don't see the point in paying outrageous prices for something that I don't use much. It's also not a fancy phone, but again, not being used much, I didn't buy it to show off to my friends or anything!

Oh, to have this week's Muse lounging my bed like that... *sigh* Yeah, that definitely would have been enough to coax me into staying in bed all weekend! :D

Yep, I braved the crowds this weekend, but only on Friday morning, but not so early. I ventured out about 8 AM or so and then was out for a few hours. But darn, did I find some good deals; for myself too.

I don't mind that you recycle the Muse. He can coax me anytime to come back to bed. Nice and cozy....

I view my cell phone bill as a necessary evil/utility. I won't sign a contract either. There are plenty of pay-as-you-go plans (Or whatever they are called) that do feature the smart phones. It all depends what you are looking for and needing in a plan and phone. I am happy with my smart phone and service. I don't have unlimited data, text, etc., but what I do have more than meets my needs. I pay about $55/month, and it also includes a line (no data, text, etc.) for my MIL.

I've heard Wally World carries some of the best plans and phones.

My FREE Kindle Quest

I've wanted a Kindle for what seems like forever, but haven't been able to afford it (and that's saying something since I can justify the cost of just about ANYTHING that I really want). I've tried winning one in one of the many giveaways that have taken place over the couple of years, but with no luck :( So I've decided to take matters in hand so to speak :) I've now decided that I am going to accumulate enough Swagbucks from my Swabucks searches to buy in essence my new Kindle will be FREE...funded entirely by my internet searches done on Swagbucks. I'll keep you informed of the Great Kindle Quest below (in case you're interested....if not feel free to just skip over this part, but really who wouldn't be interested in a FREE Kindle?)
Goal: $119
Current Swagbucks Amazon Gift Card balance: $90.00
If you'd like to learn how you can earn Swagbucks and earn your own Amazon Gift Cards to buy books, a Kindle or other merchandise sold at Amazon contact me and I would be more than happy to tell you how I plan to go about it. (just so you know you can earn both and gift cards on this rewards site)
