Seductive Saturday: About That Night by Julie James
Saturday, March 31
Julie James has been on my reading radar for awhile. I've heard such fantastic things about her contemporary romances, and I LOVE contemporary romances...so why is it that I haven't read one of her books yet? I keep meaning to, in fact I've been meaning to for the last two years. Hmmm, two years?
I think it's time, and I've decided to start with Ms. James' upcoming release, About That Night. I know it's the third book in the series, but it got a Top Pick from RT Bookreview Magazine (does anyone here subscribe?) and had this to say about it:
Sweet and spicy sounds intriguing, LOL. So I'm thinking this would be the perfect book for a new to me author test drive.
“James’ latest novel is sweet and spicy. The author paints a picture of missed opportunity and a reunion filled with fast quips and chemistry that heats up the pages. Readers will love the back-and-forth between the main characters, but throughout the book the rest of the cast of characters and the story is a fantastic romantic comedy. This one would be great on the big screen.”

He’s playing games.
Though Rylann Pierce tried to fight the sparks she felt for billionaire heir Kyle Rhodes the night they met, their sizzling chemistry was undeniable. But after being stood up on their first date, Rylann never expected to see him again. So when she finds herself face-to-face with Kyle in a courthouse nine years later, she’s stunned. More troubling to the beautiful assistant U.S. attorney is that she’s still wildly attracted to him.

But she’s making the rules.
Just released from prison, Kyle Rhodes isn’t thrilled to be the star witness in a high-profile criminal case—but when Rylann comes knocking at his door, he finds she may be the one lawyer he can’t say no to. Still as gorgeous and sharp-tongued as ever, she lays down the law: she doesn’t mix business with pleasure. But Kyle won’t give up on something he wants—and what he wants is the one woman he’s never forgotten...

What do you think of Ms. James' romances, will I like them? Were any of you lucky enough to get an advance reading copy? If so, what did you think? Is it on your buy list for next week, or have you already pre-ordered it? (releases April 3rd).

I am going to be reading my first Julie James book as well, though not this one :) I think I'll enjoy it as I have heard great things about her books.
Wasn't one of the chosen few who received an ARC but did read her previous books & really enjoyed them, esp. the last one.
Hey Na,
Glad to know I'm not alone in just getting around to reading this author everyone else praises so highly
Hey Ivy,
I will have to keep that in mind, about the last one, I don't remember the title, but it will be easy enough to find. Who knows I might even find it in the TBR once I get done clearing it out. LOL
Julie James is one of the "new to me Author" on my list to read..
I am looking forward to reading her books...
I wasn't lucky enough to get an early copy of "About That Night." I've been a fan of Julie's books for a while now and have been waiting for Kyle's book.
After hearing so many good things, I stumbled across her book Practice Makes Perfect at the library--it was a treat! Definitely going to snag her backlist!
The first book I read from Julie James was "Something About You" - the first chapter was so realistic (and hysterical) when the heroine is trying to sleep in the hotel room only to be next door to the one dreaded next door couple with the banging headboard. So immediately the humor in the situation draws you in - then the romance! Bring out the fans! Just an amazing writer with amazing stories to tell!
