Guest Author & Giveaway: Lila DiPasqua featuring Undone

Tuesday, May 8

Can you keep a secret?  Let me tell you it's hard!  I think it's human nature to want to confide in someone, but when it's a matter of life and death, you have a very good reason to protect yourself and guard your secrets well.  That may make it a little bit easier, but it would still be hard not to share a part of yourself that you keep hidden.

Author Lila DiPasqua is my guest today to share a bit why her heroine from her newest Fiery Tales novel, Undone, has secrets, and what it takes for her to let down her guard, to trust and to love.  Enjoy!

Secrets in a Rapunzel retelling. . .

There’s always a good reason someone keeps a secret.

Sometimes it’s to protect someone.  Sometimes it’s to protect themselves.  Angelica, the heroine in my latest release, UNDONE has some secrets she simply can’t reveal.  Having kept them to herself for ten years, she’s at a loss as to how to even trust anyone with them.

Hiding in another country, away from her past has helped her to survive.  But the past can’t stay buried forever. Fate steps in and tosses her out of her element—and comfort zone.

It takes time to trust another person. It takes love to heal a broken soul. But I don’t want you to think that Angelica is weak.

On the contrary.

This woman is strong. A survivor. She’s fortified a wall and erected it, managing to keep everyone at bay. That is until one irresistibly hot, sinfully sexy privateer, Simon Boulenger, crosses her path. Simon is determine to chip away at that wall until he knows everything about the beauty from the ‘tower’ he thinks he’s rescued.

Inspired by the tale of Rapunzel, Lila DiPasqua offers a new steamy, emotionally charged historical romance in the acclaimed Fiery Tales Series . . . Rescuing this beauty from the ‘tower’ is only the beginning . . .

Maintaining her ruse as a commoner, and trusting no one has kept Angelica safe. But a chance encounter with a handsome stranger lands her right where danger lies. Now, this sinfully handsome man with arresting blue eyes and a polished manner thinks he’s saved her life, when in fact he’s placed her in great peril. She’s intent on keeping him and everyone else at arm’s length. Yet, the smoldering attraction between them is difficult to deny. And impossible to ignore . . .

As commander of a number of privateer ships, Simon Boulenger dresses and speaks like an aristocrat, and has obtained wealth. But he is still not a noble. Or an officer in the King’s Navy. His lifelong dream to elevate himself from his station of birth and attain a respectable place in society is dead. Worse, he’s ensnared in a deadly scheme, and must get out. But how is he to stay focused on his dangerous mission when the mysterious beauty has him utterly intrigued? He can’t afford the distraction any more than he can resist the carnal hunger she stirs. Simon soon discovers that she’s not only a passionate soul mate, but a woman born into privilege. A woman he can never have. But they’re in too deep. Their hearts are at risk . . . as well as their lives.

I love Lila's books. She's an auto buy for me now. I'll have to wait for the print copy because I don't have an e-reader. It's hard to name just one.but I'll say A Courtesan's Guide To Keeping Your Man by Celeste Bradeley and Susan Donovan. GFC is Lucky47.

Tamsyn May 8, 2012 at 10:16 AM

Cowboy Up by Vicki Lewis Thompson was a hot read. Great cover too.

Lexi H May 8, 2012 at 10:27 AM

Wicked by Sasha White, well anything by Sasha is über steamy.

Lila you are so talented, and I am so glad you love fairy tales! Secrets are oh so much fun, even if they are deep dark ones that the character fights to keep secret, it is a ride to see how those secrets come out (as all secrets tend to do). Then you can bask in the glow of their freedom from the secrets, and hopefully newfound love.
Can't wait for Undone to be available in print!

Got carried away, sorry

Well the steamiest would have to be "The Irish Devil" by Diane Whiteside and the most emotionally charged would be "Broken Wing" by Judith James. I loved them both. I follow you on GFC. Name for GFC is Mary.

LadyRed May 8, 2012 at 10:45 AM

The Kadin by Bertrice Small was the most emotionally charged book I've read and I don't really have a steamiest (mostly because I have written steamier scenes than I've read LOL). GFC is Lora Patten.

Thanks for a fantastic post and giveaway! Congrats Lila on the new release! I'm dying to read Lila's series. They are at the top of my wishlist :)

Ummm... I'm having a brain blank about steamiest/or most emotional book I've read... ah... Five Smooth Stones by Ann Fairbairn. I read that book in high school and I remember being emotionally drained after reading it. It's about a biracial couple during the Civil Rights Movement and it was so moving.

GFC follower is lisakhutson, email is lisakhutson (at) [cox] {dot} net Love Lilas stories. The spin she uses on the fairy tales. And now, I have high expectations of Undone. The cover is magnificent and Lila is well seasoned (haha) now. I cannot wait to read it. The steamiest book I have ever read? So many factors, so many books. Renee Bernard, first book, A Ladys Pleasure. I have always loved way this book starts out and the story to follow.

Congrats on the release Lila!
I guess some of the steamiest books I have read lately are some by Cherise Sinclair and Kallypso Masters. They both write great, emotional, stories that include BDSM.
Kally's next book looks like it will be a very emotional one. It is due to be released sometime around the end of this month, the beginning of next. I know it will be very intense and I will probably have to take breaks, not be able to read it straight through.

I'm not sure about steamiest because I like to read erotic romance/erotica, though I really liked Possess Me by R.G. Alexander. And emotionally charged? Hmmm, I'm not sure what defines emotionally charged.
Thanks for the giveaway! I really want to read one of Lila's books :)

The steamiest and most emotionally charged book I read was "Outlander" not because it had a lot of graphic sex but the chemistry of the H/h was just toe-curling and the story was heart-breaking.
