Guest Author & Giveaway: Roni Loren featuring Melt Into You

Friday, July 13

It's finally Friday!  I hope you've enjoyed my Hot Fun in the Summer Erotic Romance week, and I also hope that you've found some great new reads :)  I know I have.

My guest today has quickly become one of my new favorite erotic romance authors.   Crash Into You, the first book in her Loving on the Edge series, as well as her more recent novella Still Into You, made big impressions on me, and I've been anticipating the second full length book ever since.  Just a not so subtle'll more than likely be seeing her name appear a few times at my year end Favorites list :)

Erotic Romance author Roni Loren is my special guest to share with us one of her favorite scenes from her new book, Melt Into You.  Enjoy!

First, thanks for having me here at Seductive Musings! : ) For this post, I was asked--what was your favorite scene or moment of MELT INTO YOU to write?

That is such a hard question because I really enjoyed writing this book and had fun with so many scenes. And I’ve said elsewhere that the prologue is one of my favorite chapters I’ve ever written. However, when it comes down to my favorite scene, I must admit that the one I was most nervous to write turned out to be one of my very favorites in the book.

When you write a menage romance, you always have the same big questions you have to tackle at some point:
  1. Are the two guys only into the girl or are they going to interact sexually and/or romantically with each other?
  2. And, is this happily ever after going to be for two people or three?
Honestly, when I started this book, I wasn’t sure how I would end up answering these questions. I was open to all the outcomes and decided to let the story and the characters lead me. And I won’t give everything away, but I will say that even though this is primarily a story about all three characters’ relationship, Jace and Andre ended up leading me to giving them a scene together.

And I was nervous about writing it because a) I wasn’t sure how readers would feel about it and b) I’d never written any m/m scenes before (though I love to read m/m romance) and wasn’t sure I could pull it off. But after it was done, I was so happy I put that scene in and it’s become one of my very favorites in the book. And based on reviews so far, it’s one of the readers’ favorites too. : )

Here is an exclusive peek at it…

MELT INTO YOU excerpt (18+):

Jace had sobered a bit on the ride home and was able to keep steady on his feet for the most part, but Andre helped him to his room anyway. He told himself it was because he didn’t want Jace falling and cracking his head open. That is wasn’t because he simply enjoyed having his arm around him. God, he was f**king pathetic.

He helped Jace to the edge of the bed and then crouched down to pull off Jace’s shoes.

“Why are you moving out?” Jace asked, his words less slurred but still rolling lazily off his tongue.

Andre looked up to meet Jace’s intent stare. The green of his eyes swirled with so many things, Andre didn’t even attempt to try to pick an emotion. Drunk. That was the emotion, he reminded himself. “You know why.”

Jace put a hand on Andre’s shoulder, leaning in with some pressure. Despite the fact that he knew Jace was acting out of his head, the effect of having Jace over him in that position had Andre’s body stirring to awareness. Freaking perfect.

Silence stretched and Jace’s eyes narrowed as he evaluated Andre. Andre shifted his position a bit, but Jace’s gaze flicked downward, no doubt catching sight of exactly what Andre was trying to hide.

Jace’s brow wrinkled. A beat passed and then awareness dawned. “You’re a switch?”

F**king hell. Apparently Jace’s instincts didn’t dull with alcohol. “You’re drunk.”

“Possibly. So if you answer me, I probably won’t remember.” He smiled in that disarming way that came so easily to him.

Andre rocked back on his heels, meeting Jace’s stare. “Yes, I’m a switch. With guys. Happy? Now do you need help getting undressed or are you going to sleep in your clothes?”

“I can do it.” Jace peeled off his T-shirt, revealing a view that Andre had seen countless times, but that had never failed to stir something in him. Andre swallowed hard, and Jace stood and unfastened his jeans, surprisingly steady on his feet. “I’m not as wasted as you think I am.”

Andre’s muscles were coiling tighter by the minute, and the air in the loft seemed too thick. If Jace stripped completely, there’d be no way for Andre to tame his hard-on. He needed to get out of here before he made an awkward situation worse. “Good, then I’ll leave you to it. My brother is expecting me back.”

Andre shoved his hands in his pockets and headed toward the door. Get out, get out, get out.

“I don’t want you to go, you know,” Jace said, halting Andre in his tracks. “Or move out.”

Andre shook his head, keeping his back to Jace. “It’s for the best. I don’t want to lose our friendship. And if I stay here, that’s what’s going to happen.”

The sound of clothes shifting filled his ears, but Andre didn’t dare turn around. He didn’t need to see if Jace was getting naked. He took another step toward the door, but before he could reach it, breath hit the nape of Andre’s neck. “Yeah, that’s probably exactly what would happen.”

Andre’s blood seemed to still. He turned around to find Jace within inches of him. “What are you doing?”

To find out what happens after that, you’ll have to buy the book. ;)  Do you like reading menage stories? Do you have a preference on the answers to those two story questions I listed above?

Her first love has returned, and he's brought a friend...

After running away from home and the boy who broke her heart, Evan Kennedy has kick-started the perfect new life with her celebrity fiancé. So what if said fiancé prefers guys? She knew the deal. And with her ticket to The Ranch, an exclusive resort where any fantasy can be satisfied, she knows she can find someone to fulfill her less-than-traditional desires on the side.

She just never expected that man to be Jace Austin, her old heart-breaker—all grown up, hard-bodied, and holding out a collar. She knows it’s probably a world-class bad idea—especially since Jace has brought along his buddy Andre, who’s every bit as irresistible. But if they can stick to the no-strings rules, so can she.

Too bad Jace has never been so good with rules. Evan is convinced “forever” is a word used only in greeting cards, but Jace and Andre have one last fantasy of hers left to fulfill. It’s time to go big or go home. And neither man has ever been a fan of going home.

Well, I am really starting to appreciate menage romance novel and, yes, I would love to see each of the characters with their hea. There is a huge emotional "investment" in these stories, so everbody deserves his/her share of sexual enjoyment and love.

I've read a few menage stories, some I've really liked and some were just not my cup of tea. I guess what it all really comes down to is the story and the characters themselves. If I like the characters and believe that they all truly care about and desire one another, then the story works for me!

Thanks for the giveaway :)

I'm always happiest to see the men interact, too...there's nothing worse than when the men refuse to touch in a menage story. For me, a menage story works best when it's no holds barred, and everyone is highly attracted to everyone else involved...

Joanne July 13, 2012 at 12:58 PM

Congrats on the new release. I think it comes down to the story and how the characters interact. I don't have a problem with the two guys interacting sexually with each other or with the girl, but I love a HEA for all parties involved be it two, three or more.
This book sounds fantastic. Can't wait to read it.

I haven't really read any menage but I would like to. Please enter me in contest. I am a follower and email subscriber.

I don't read many menage stories, because I want there to be an HEA for everyone, but I don't usually find that to be realistic in a menage. I think that it works best though if the guys are emotionally and physically involved with each other.

Hi Roni,
Congrats on the new release. To answer your questions, I love a good menage story, and really love it when the two guys interact romantically and sexually with each other. I find this hot ;)
I prefer that all the 3 end up with a HEA if possible. If I like the characters, then I want them all happy and loved.
*No need to enter me for the ecopy of STILL INTO YOU (I already bought it), but I would love to be entered for the Book Grab Bag contest.

Hi Roni!

Thank you for a great blog tour. As with all stories the characters are really important to me. I haven't read many menage stories but have been reading a lot of erotic ones. I want there to be chemistry! If I can believe in them I'm likely to want to journey with them.

bn100,  July 13, 2012 at 8:35 PM

I prefer them being into the girl and have one guy/girl with a HEA.

Julianne July 13, 2012 at 8:52 PM

I do like reading menage stories. I like the possibilities there can be between the three involved. I've read both kinds of menage where the two men are only the girl and where the two men are into each as well as the girl. I like that one best. I believe there can be a happily ever after between all three. After all, if they're going to be into each other it only makes sense.

I've not read a lot of menage stories, but I have read a few. Lorelei James had one that I enjoyed and Lauren Dane has one coming up that I think I'm going to really like.

Loved the excerpt :) As I was reading it, at the end I thought, Ooo what indeed??

Congratulations on your new release :)

I prefer that all three people in the relationship are involved with each other in ALL ways and that they all get a happy ending. It seems more honest to me when the men aren't afraid to touch each other too rather than just sharing the girl.

Thanks so much!

As Maria said, they are best when all are involved with each other!

Congrats on the release! I've seen this book around a lot- I would love to win it! If there is chemistry from everyone, then I'm all good. Thank you!!

I love reading menage stories...I like the guys to be into the girl but have read some sexy scenes between the guys that have turned me on...when I didn't think it would. I like the HEA for all three of them but it doesn't bother me if it is just for two...I like that they don't want to share after they did to start.
