Feature: Maya Banks & Softly at Sunrise

Thursday, August 16

Have you ever gotten to the end of a story, but weren't ready to let the characters and their love story go yet?  It's one of the reasons why I like series books so well.  There's always a chance you will "run" into them again, even if it is just a brief glimpse of how they have evolved since "The End".

Unfortunately, authors very rarely revisit beloved characters with a continuation of their love story in another novel or novella written specifically for them.   I wish it would happen more often, but it doesn't :(  So I guess you could say that I will have a wish come true on August 21st, because that is the day that Maya Banks will be gifting readers with a continuation of Rachel and Ethan Kelly's love story from The Darkest Hour, in a new novella, Softly at Sunrise

Maya Banks is my guest today to share a bit about why the Kelly family is so memorable, as well as a little bit about Rachel and Ethan's continuing love story in Softly at Sunrise.  Enjoy!

For those of you not familiar with the KGI Series, it’s a gripping saga revolving around a close-knit family of exciting ex-military characters who work together to help one another and the society at large. Stories weaved between suspenseful situations and tantalizing romantic details, makes the entire series an incredibly enjoyable read.

For those who know the Kelly family well, Softly at Sunrise is another epic addition to the mix. What makes the Kelly family so memorable is the family bond. For me they are the family everyone wants to have. They embody the qualities I feel are most important in a family unit. Unwavering loyalty, unconditional love and support even when there is a disagreement. These are people you know are going to have your back no matter the choices you may have made.

Book 5.5, Softly at Sunrise, is a downloadable e-book that’s self-published.  It tells the story of Rachel Kelly who has traveled a long, hard road in her journey back to her husband, Ethan, and the Kelly family. Now, as she and Ethan are poised to move into their new home, safe behind the walls of the Kelly compound, Rachel wonders if she’ll finally be free of the ghosts that have haunted her for so long and if she’ll step into the sun after a past steeped in darkness.

The story starts at their home and takes some wild turn of events that will pull at your heart strings and leave you craving more action from the edge of your seat…or beach chair…depending where you read this exhilarating novella.

Congratulations Maya!  And thank you for sharing with us Ethan and Rachel's new novella.  I'm sure fans of the KGI series, and especially The Darkest Hour, will be very excited to read Softly at Sunrise :)   Softly at Sunrise is currently only available for pre-order at Amazon, but should be available at other online retailers next week.  Maya has a full range of links on her website if you are interested.

If you haven't had the chance to start reading the KGI series, now is the perfect time because Amazon is currently offering the books in this series in their 4 for 3 promotion.  Meaning that you buy four, but only pay for three!  So while there are currently five KGI books, you'd still only have to pay for four of them...and you'd get free shipping!   I'm a few books behind in this series myself so I think I'm definitely going to be taking advantage of that :)

To learn more about Maya Banks and the variety of romance books that she writes (there's something for everyone) you can find her at her website www.mayabanks.com, her blog, Facebook and Twitter

My FREE Kindle Quest

I've wanted a Kindle for what seems like forever, but haven't been able to afford it (and that's saying something since I can justify the cost of just about ANYTHING that I really want). I've tried winning one in one of the many giveaways that have taken place over the couple of years, but with no luck :( So I've decided to take matters in hand so to speak :) I've now decided that I am going to accumulate enough Swagbucks from my Swabucks searches to buy one...so in essence my new Kindle will be FREE...funded entirely by my internet searches done on Swagbucks. I'll keep you informed of the Great Kindle Quest below (in case you're interested....if not feel free to just skip over this part, but really who wouldn't be interested in a FREE Kindle?)
Goal: $119
Current Swagbucks Amazon Gift Card balance: $90.00
If you'd like to learn how you can earn Swagbucks and earn your own Amazon Gift Cards to buy books, a Kindle or other merchandise sold at Amazon contact me and I would be more than happy to tell you how I plan to go about it. (just so you know you can earn both Amazon.com and Amazon.ca gift cards on this rewards site)
