Winners: Fournicopia & Jill Shalvis
Friday, August 3
Well my Musings friends, I think this will be the last Winners post I do for a while. No, I'm not going to close the blog, or stop doing giveaways....just the way that I have been doing them.
Selecting winners has always been somewhat of a chore, not to mention keeping track of the ones that have longer cutoff dates, and hoping not to forget one. Then there is the sad fact that some winners never claim their prizes.
Recently I tried out the Rafflecopter widget on a whim, since I had seen it all over the web I was curious. I was also skeptical about it, and I really didn't want to add anything else to possibly make the posts load slower, but decided to give it a try a few times. I have to admit that it's easy, and it's a huge time saver for me. It will keep track of the entries, select the winner using Random.org, and you can even email the winner direct from the their site with a push of a button. It's seductively simple, and I like that...I need to streamline where I can and this is a no brainer.
So from this point forward, when possible, a Rafflecopter widget will be added to the giveaways. Winners will be emailed via Rafflecopter, and displayed on the widget on the actual giveaway, eliminating the need for these "Winner" posts. How do you feel about this change? Do you like the Rafflecopter entries?
To celebrate the release of Fournicopia, Delilah Devlin offered to giveaway a digital book from her backlist to lucky Musings follower...
To celebrate the release of At Last and Forever and a Day, Jill's publisher Forever Romance, would like to giveway a both books to lucky Musings follower...

I've completed the contact form. Thanks so much!
am I missing the name someplace for Delilah's book?
Hey Carin,
Thanks for the heads up that I forgot to put the name in there for Delilah's giveaway!
I've put it in there now :)
Rafflecopter is good because you know if you've entered a contest or not versus google or scrolling through (possibly) many comments to make sure you haven't already left a comment.
The bad part is that the two computers I use sometimes have issues and don't work well with rafflecopter.
I like Rafflecopter as long as the entry requirements are not a mile long and/or start out with following or liking someone on Twitter. Some folks need to remember the KISS theory! And, I think if something can keep it simple for the person handling the giveaway...well, that's a good thing!
Rafflecopter is fine as long as you are going to email the winners. The widget doesn't display in google reader, so the only way to see the winner is to go back to that post and check it. Unless you notified us that a winner was selected, we'd never know when to do that.
I loved Rafflecopter in the beginning but it has become so tedious for me because it constantly times out when I lave to fulfill a request and I have to re-enter and start over. It's always like this for me. But of course it's whatever makes it easier for you. I don't think this happens to anyone else. :)
