Friday Fun: Well, this is embarrassing...

Friday, September 14

I can't believe it's Friday already!  Where in the world did the week go?  Seriously.  How did we get to Friday because I feel like it should be at least Thursday :)

I guess I shouldn't complain too much since it's the weekend, but I didn't get nearly as much posted on the blog as I had anticipated, and for that I do apologize.  The good news though is that I did manage to complete the front book cover for the third book in Delilah Marvelle's School of Gallantry series.  And it is completely fabulous if I do say so myself, LOL (sorry I can't share it with you yet, but I know you'll love it!).  So, fans that were disappointed when the publisher decided to pass on the remaining books in the series a few years ago will be glad to know that it wasn't "The End" after all!

Are you looking for a good read this weekend?  I have two recommendations for you.  The first is the first book in Katie Porter's Vegas Top Guns series.  This is the series that is co-written by authors Carrie Lofty and Lorelie Brown and all I can say is that it is a match made in heaven!  Because I have some HUGE mad love for the first book Double Down.

Desire as reckless as a fighter jet in freefall...and just as dangerous.

As part of the 64th Aggressor Squadron, Major Ryan "Fang" Haverty flies like the enemy to teach Allied pilots how not to die. The glittering excess of the Strip can't compare to the glowing jet engines of his F-16. But a sexy, redheaded waitress in seamed stockings? Now "she" gets his blood pumping.

Cassandra Whitman's good-girl ways haven't earned any slack from her manager ex-boyfriend, or prevented a bad case of frazzle from holding down two and a half jobs. She sure wouldn't mind letting the handsome Southern charmer shake up her routine.

Their wild weekend lives up to Sin City's reputation. Especially when they discover a matched passion for roleplaying. For Cass, it's an exciting departure from her normal, shy persona. But for Ryan, it triggers memories of a time when his fetish drove away the woman he loved-leaving him reluctant to risk a repeat performance.

Except Cass refuses to settle for ordinary ever again. She's about to show the man with hair-trigger hands that she's got a few surprise moves of her own.

Warning: This book contains dirty-hot roleplaying, featuring an all-alpha fighter pilot and an ambitious waitress with a fabulous imagination. Also: dressing-room sex, a plaid schoolgirl skirt, and a sprinkling of spankings.

I read Double Down last weekend, and just LOVED it!  I've been on an erotic romance kick recently, but this one was different in that involved role playing.  I can't remember ever reading an erotic romance with role playing before but I found it refreshing, with two characters that I loved, loved, loved.  And it is very sexy, very.  Yes, there are quite a few sex scenes, yet it doesn't come at the expense of the character development or the story.  Simply fabulous!  Who knows maybe after reading it you will want to reenact your own naughty school girl, and fighter pilot fantasies, LOL.

After reading the book I got an email from an online costume company...completely unrelated but I was curious to see what they had.  The costumes I found at that website were the ones that I linked to above, and with Halloween coming up I just have to say they have the most amazing selection of costumes for both children and adults.  These are not your run of the mill costumes!  Just look at these specialty ones.  Makes me want to have a costume party :)  Please know though, that I don't get any commission or anything from them, nor do I know about the quality of what you see, nor do I know if it is a reputable company or not...I just found it fun....because it's Friday and all I thought I would share it with you :)

So if you are looking for a good read, I highly recommend Double Down, but if erotic romance isn't really your thing, or you are kind of burned out on it then I also highly recommend What I Did For a Duke by Julie Ann Long which is currently on sale for only $0.99 @ Amazon (and maybe elsewhere, I don't know).  It was one of my favorite historical romances of 2011.  Frankly, I don't know that you could spend your $0.99 better, than on this book.  In fact I loved it so much that I gave it as a gift to my sister for her birthday last year.  Even if you don't like historical romance, I would recommend this book.  It's fantastic, truly.

For years, he's been an object of fear, fascination . . . and fantasy. But of all the wicked rumors that shadow the formidable Alexander Moncrieffe, Duke of Falconbridge, the "ton" knows one thing for certain: only fools dare cross him. And when Ian Eversea does just that, Moncrieffe knows the perfect revenge: he'll seduce Ian's innocent sister, Genevieve--the only Eversea as yet untouched by scandal. First he'll capture her heart . . . and then he'll break it.

But everything about Genevieve is unexpected: the passion simmering beneath her cool control, the sharp wit tempered by gentleness . . . And though Genevieve has heard the whispers about the duke's dark past, and knows she trifles with him at her peril, one incendiary kiss tempts her deeper into a world of extraordinary sensuality. Until Genevieve is faced with a fateful choice . . . is there "anything" she won't do for a duke?

Finally, I'll be at the Romance Reviews Today chat tonight @ 9:30 pm EST if you'd like to join us (enter the RRT Chat room).  Have a good night, and a good weekend!

My FREE Kindle Quest

I've wanted a Kindle for what seems like forever, but haven't been able to afford it (and that's saying something since I can justify the cost of just about ANYTHING that I really want). I've tried winning one in one of the many giveaways that have taken place over the couple of years, but with no luck :( So I've decided to take matters in hand so to speak :) I've now decided that I am going to accumulate enough Swagbucks from my Swabucks searches to buy one...so in essence my new Kindle will be FREE...funded entirely by my internet searches done on Swagbucks. I'll keep you informed of the Great Kindle Quest below (in case you're interested....if not feel free to just skip over this part, but really who wouldn't be interested in a FREE Kindle?)
Goal: $119
Current Swagbucks Amazon Gift Card balance: $90.00
If you'd like to learn how you can earn Swagbucks and earn your own Amazon Gift Cards to buy books, a Kindle or other merchandise sold at Amazon contact me and I would be more than happy to tell you how I plan to go about it. (just so you know you can earn both Amazon.com and Amazon.ca gift cards on this rewards site)
