Guest Author & Giveaway: Jessica Clare featuring The Care and Feeding of an Alpha Male
Tuesday, October 16
I was out in the rain on Saturday, for much longer than I would have cared to be. And let me tell you it was a cold rain. Matter of fact I am still cold....and now I've got a cold :)
Unfortunately, my situation, nor the outcome, was anything like the heroine, Beth Ann's, in Jessica Clare's latest Bluebonnet series, The Care and Feeding of an Alpha Male. Although if I have to look for a silver lining at least I wasn't wearing Christian Louboutin shoes hiking through the mud for hours....then again at the end she got the hot Alpha hero.
Author Jessica Clare is my guest today to share a bit about The Care and Feeding of an Alpha Male, and what you might want to consider carrying with you in case you find yourself stranded in the woods (pouring rain optional). Enjoy!
~~~***~~~
Hi there!My Bluebonnet contemporaries are focused around a Survival Training business and the men that work there. Book two features Colt Waggoner, a hot, hard-headed marine who has the hots for the town’s beautician, Beth Ann. Too bad they can’t stand each other.
Of course, Beth Ann finds herself lost in the woods in the middle of a downpour, and Colt comes to her rescue. Kind of. Beth Ann views herself as an independent woman, so she’s not keen on his help. She’s sure she could find her way out on her own.
And maybe that’s true! But Beth Ann’s problem was that she was out in the woods without any sort of gear. And maybe you’ll find yourself in the same scenario someday – lost and alone in the wilderness. To be ready for this sort of scenario, I’ve made a brief list of things to consider bringing with you.
- Protection – Just kidding! But some sort of protection from the elements would be good.
- REAL Protection – Condoms – What? They make good canteens for carrying water. Just don’t get the lubricated ones. Yick.
- Rope – Good for tying things up. Mind out of the gutter, now. Mind out of the gutter.
- A thong – You know. Just in case you forgot your rope.
- A sexy hunk of a man with some survival skills. T-shirt optional. So very, very optional. *fans self*
So that’s it! Now that you’ve got a sexy man and you’re alone together, it’s good that you’re prepared for anything. And I do mean anything!
Beth Ann needed a hero…
Beth Ann Williamson has finally had it with her on-and-off fiancé of
nine years. The problem? No one in town seems to believe her when she
says it’s really over. Now Beth Ann is determined to show the small town
of Bluebonnet, Texas, that she can take care of herself. That means
opening her own salon and not taking the help that her ex-fiancé seems
determined to offer.
Of course, even the best laid plans go awry when she’s stranded in
the woods in the middle of a downpour. Some independent woman she is.
She can’t even find her way out of the woods without the help of a
handsome but scowling Marine.
She got more than she bargained for…
A die-hard survivalist, Colt Waggoner’s none too pleased when he’s
sent to find the town’s pampered princess. He’s even more annoyed when
Beth Ann isn’t grateful for the rescue. Fine, then. He’ll just have to
teach the sexy blonde a lesson – a weekend of roughing it out in the
wild. Just the two of them, alone, in muddy, wet clothing that needs to
come off…
But Beth Ann isn’t the spoiled princess he thought. And when she
propositions him for a one night stand, he knows he should turn it down.
Because this alpha male might need more than just one night in her bed
to satisfy him…
Thanks Jessica for being my guest today! I have to admit I am NOT one for camping or for survivalist skills. My idea of camping is much more along the lines of glamping (glamorous camping). Never heard of it? I hadn't until recently, but it's something I could totally be on board with...especially if I had my an Alpha Male like Beth Ann's to join me *big grin*...and the T-shirt would not be optional, LOL!
I have to agree with tissues and a brush. I can't imagine going days without brushing my hair.
Protein bars! Those things can keep you fed & ready for all those energy-consuming wilderness adventures!
A bottle of water.
I'd need a toothbrush.
I agree 100% with toilet paper.
I'd say a packet of kleenix (can double as TB), a bottle of hand santizer, a swiss army knife, a compass, and a mini flashlight. Hey I can fit a lot in my purse :)
flush toilets, they come with tp :O)
Carin
I would have to go with TP, hand sanitizer, a multipurpose tool like swiss army knife, a mini flashlight that does not require batteries, and a copy of surviving in the wilderness, lol. Hey, my purse is huge! I can carry all the basics plus my kindle & pb book, lol.
I agree with the toilet paper. Maybe a toothbrush and toothpaste and a Swiss Army knife and a mini flashlight and a bottle of water.
I'm thinking matches or a lighter so that we could build a fire to stay warm or cook.
Maybe something to start a fire or a folded up blanket :)
Thanks for having the giveaway!
Tic-Tacs - gonna want fresh breath.
That still leave room for tissue, a comb, and my handy swiss army pocket knife.
A toothbrush!
I'm bringing a water bottle. I always have one with me anyway. I will be able to drink from it, wash off with it, refill it from rain water (if there is any) and stay alive, etc.
This question makes me think of the book On The Island. Water bottle by far the most valuable thing.
Somehow I would have ground coffee! And I would use rainwater and hope my HOT Marine could build a fire and figure out how to drip the coffee into my mouth.Without coffe, NO ONE, even bears, coyotes, etc would RUN scared from me would DARE to be near me...LOL!
One of those little survivor kits that we always take camping lol
Thanks for the awesome giveaway!
