Guest Author & Giveaway: Jodi Redford featuring Checking it Twice

Wednesday, November 28

What's better than one day of menage love stories?  Two!  No, three!  Yep, that's right I have another hot for the holidays menage erotic romance to share with you.  Seems only appropriate don't you think?

Author Jodi Redford is my guest today and she's not only sharing her recipe for a perfect love story in Checking it Twice, but also what looks like a sinfully decadent holiday recipe and a chance to win a Kindle Fire!  Enjoy!

Hero and heroine. Two perfect ingredients for the perfect love story, right? But in my world, love rarely goes as planned. And in the case of my newest release, Checking It Twice, it includes one other vital ingredient: Hero number two. So how do I go about creating a recipe for an unconventional love story? It all starts with conflict and a heaping tablespoon of temptation.

Prep stage:

Jana Colton, my heroine, has been crushing on hero #1, Kevin Monahan, for the last five years. She’s tried every seductive trick in the book to get him into the sack, but Kev has always found a way to resist her. While most women might admit defeat at this point, Jana decides to turn up the heat with a full scale seduction guaranteed to bring that hunky chef to his knees.

Now comes a heavy dash of that aforementioned conflict. Kevin has big secrets he’s been keeping from Jana. Secrets from his past that fuel his determination to keep Jana at arm’s length. Another of those secrets is his predilection for voyeurism. Look but don’t touch. If he can just hold firm to that personal mandate until he takes that new executive chef position in Vegas, he’ll be home free.

Did I mention things rarely go as planned?

Add spice and simmer. Enter hero #2, Nick Pappas. Nick and Kevin are estranged best friends who have a past history of sharing women. If there’s anyone who knows how to lead Kevin into temptation, it’s Nick. Not that Nick hasn’t been dealing with his own temptation. For the last year, he’s been carrying on a long distance flirtation with Jana, and she’s a large part of the reason why he made the trip to Michigan. But it becomes instantly clear to him that Kevin is in love with Jana, and Nick suspects that the demons from Kev’s past are responsible for Kevin’s reluctance to give in to his desire. Fortunately Nick has a sexy plan up his sleeve. One that will lead to Jana having two heroes in her bed this Christmas.

Bring to a roiling boil. The hotter things get between Jana, Kevin and Nick, the harder Jana falls for both men. But with Christmas drawing nearer and nearer, she has to face the very real and scary possibility that the New Year might not bring her a happily ever after with the two men she loves.
Now I could tell you how the rest of this recipe turns out, but what would be the fun in that? Never fear, chef Kevin is going to help me make up for leaving you hanging like that by showing you how to make Soda Cracker Candy. Yummy! A sweet, delicious treat that goes perfect with a hot, sinful book. *cough, cough*

Tis the season for double seduction

The only item on Jana Colton's Christmas list this year is Kevin Monahan. Preferably naked in her bed. The delicious, hunky chef has been resisting her forever, but she's pulling out all the sexy stops this holiday. Especially since his acceptance of an out-of-state job threatens to nix her quest to rock his boxers off.

Jana has always been Kevin's personal Kryptonite, but giving in to her isn't an option. Relationships are a four-letter word in his book. He cares far too much for Jana to let his emotional baggage ultimately break her heart.

With the arrival of his best friend, Nick Pappas, the balance of temptation shifts. From their past history of sharing women, Nick knows every dirty trick it takes to lead Kevin astray, and he's not afraid to use them. Particularly since Nick's convinced that Jana is exactly what Kevin needs to be happy and whole.

Their game of seduction quickly snowballs into something that feels an awful lot like love--in triplicate. But with Kevin dead set on leaving Michigan, there's a real possibility it could be a blue Christmas for them all.

Warning: This book contains an extremely tormented voyeur, a very naughty and not so saintly Nick, a liberal application of candy cane-flavored body paint, a buzzing butterfly, and enough raunchy fun on a sex swing to melt a snowman...or two.

Congrats Jodi!  Thanks for being my guest today and not only sharing your new book with us, but also that recipe for Soda Cracker Candy.  I have to admit when I first read the title for the recipe I was not the least tempted, then I looked it up and saw a picture and read some of the I think I'm going to add this to my holiday baking this year :)  Yum indeed!

Soda cracker treats must be the in thing this year. This is the third time in two weeks where I've read about them. They seem quite easy to make which is always a plus.

I would love to have my own hunky chef. I would love his personal attention but another biggie would be to come home to a meal ready for me to eat. Heaven! Now if hero #2 cleaned, life would be perfect.

The recipe sounds good and so does your book. What is your favorite genre to read and write?

What girl would not want to have a hunky chef in her kitchen and in her bedroom feeding her appitites.

Amy--My favorite genre to read and write is erom, hands down. Particularly contemporary and paranormal (werewolves especially!)I also love the sub-genre of sci fi romance and am always on the look out for new authors there.

Leni November 28, 2012 at 4:34 PM

Have you always had a love for food and is that what lead you to add this as a profession in the story? I've never heard of soda crackers and was surprised at how easy the recipe is and how the ingredients are usually on hand.
Great recipe for a book and snack in one post. Love it

Thanks for the release congrats, everyone! Funny story about the soda cracker candy. A friend of mine made this stuff for years and refused to give me the recipe, insisting that it was a top secret recipe handed down for generations through her family. Then last year someone posted a pic of the candy on Twitter and I was "OMG, that's the candy!" Needless to say, I forwarded the pic to my friend and gave her a hard time about it. Top secret. Suuuure.

Leni--I'm a huge foodie. I'd always wanted to write a chef hero. The restaurant where he works is loosely based on an actual restaurant that's owned by a friend of mine, so that's also where a lot of my inspiration came from. Unfortunately, Kev is strictly fictional though. ;)

I do enjoy stories with chef heroes or heroines. It sounds like an emotional story.

This looks like a fun read and I certainly will have to try to candy...although usually if there is a way to mess up a recipe, I will find it! Congrats and good luck with the new release, it sounds delightful.
