Guest Author & Giveaway: Larissa Ione featuring Ecstasy Unveiled

Monday, January 25

***This giveaway has ended, but you should still read the's worth your time:)
Thanks for joining the fun!***

I know many of you have read and loved Larissa Ione's Demonica series.  I'm kind of late to the game because I've never read one....that is until Ecstasy Unveiled.  I've been meaning to read them ever since reading Lea from Closetwriter's reviews last year...really I have.  That's why when I saw that Larissa's new book was going to be on blog tour, I decided now was the time to be "seduced by my dark side" as the author puts it. So prepare to be tempted with me (and check out that tattoo).
Welcome to Seductive Musings Larissa! I am so glad to have you as my guest today. For you, what makes a romance novel a great love story, and what books are your new favorite find?

Thank you so much for having me! It’s awesome to be here!

As for what makes a romance novel a great love story…for me it’s all about the hero. I’m very hero-centric in my own writing, so when I read romance, it’s because I want to fall in love with the hero. As long as the hero is, well, hero material, I’m probably looking at a great romance.

My new favorite finds? Well, I’ve recently decided to give some new authors and urban fantasy a try, so I’m currently glomming Mark Henry, Jeaniene Frost, Jill Myles, Seressia Glass, and Shiloh Walker.

I am all about the hero too!  I've heard a lot of good things lately about Jeanine Frost and Jill Myles.  I should add them to my ever growing list of authors to try this year.

For someone who has not read the first three novels in the Demonica series, can you tell us a little bit about each of the books and give us some insight into each of your sexy demon heroes and how they are all connected?

Well, the Demonica series, the first four books, anyway, are a connected by brothers and the underworld hospital, Underworld General. In the first three books, the brothers, Eidolon, Shade, and Wraith, run the hospital.

Eidolon, from the first book, Pleasure Unbound, is a doctor.  He’s also an incubus, which is a sexual demon.  He’s the most level-headed of the brothers, but he’s constantly fighting his nature.

Shade is a paramedic, and he’s dealing with a pretty nasty curse that keeps him from finding a mate – which he’d love to have, because he’s always wanted a family. He’s really intense, feels deeply, but has a hard exterior.

Wraith is the trouble-maker of the three.  He’s sarcastic, always in trouble, and pretty much lives with a death wish.  The other two have spent the greater part of their own lives trying to keep Wraith from fulfilling that death wish.

I've seen many of your Demonica heroes listed on favorite heroes lists.  I'm beginning to understand the appeal :)

Your hero in Ecstasy Unveiled is Lore.  What do you think will make readers, much like his heroine Idess, fall in love with him despite his mission to assassinate the human she is sworn to protect? And can you tell us a little bit about their story?

Ecstasy Unveiled, tone-wise, is fairly dark, on a level with Desire Unchained. Lore, because his mother was human, is a half-breed, so his incubus gifts went screwy, and unlike his other brothers, he can’t use them to heal. In fact, anyone who comes into contact with his right arm dies instantly.  So…he’s a perfect assassin.

Granted, assassins don’t always make the…nicest…heroes, but it isn’t Lore’s first choice of careers, and I hope that readers can see beyond his job, beyond the shell he’s built around him, just like Idess did.

I'm sure Idess can handle him juuuuuust fine :)

What's your favorite scene or moment from Ecstasy Unveiled, and why? Can you describe it for us without giving too much away?

Ack! Just one? *grins*  I guess I’ll just have to say that there’s a scene where Lore turns the tables on Idess, and suddenly, the captor becomes the captive. : )

Oh, that does sound captivating!  I haven't gotten to that scene I can't wait.

What’s your vision for the Demonica series? How many more books can we look forward to, and what are some of your upcoming releases, or new projects you are working on?

Well, after Ecstasy Unveiled, there will be one more book for sure – Sin Undone, which I’m working on now and which is schedule for late August.  After that, I don’t know. There are characters I’d like to write about, so I won’t say that there will be no more Demonica books.  What there WILL be is a spinoff in which some of the characters, such as Reaver and Kynan, will play roles.

I'm sure that will make a lot of your fans very happy to hear that! (make sure you check out the excerpt link below for a sneak peek from Sin Undone at the back of the book)

You also write as Sydney Croft with Stephanie Tyler.  I am a fan of Stephanie Tyler here at Musings.  In fact, she will be a guest here tomorrow to celebrate the release of Hold on Tight.  How easy or hard is it to write with someone else?

Stephanie is awesome! Great to hear that you’re fans! I love her books – which is why I write with her. : )

As for how hard it is to write with someone else? Well…it’s hard. Except with Stephanie. I’ve found that writing with her is incredibly easy.  In fact, after working on a Sydney Croft book, I go back to my own books and realize just how hard writing really is!

How can readers find or connect with you?

Readers can find me at my blog on my website:, Facebook, Myspace and Twitter

If you could ask readers a question, what would it be?

I’m always curious about this: Do readers read the dedications in books?

Finally, just for fun…if you could write the “fortune” in a fortune cookie what would it be?

Hmm.  “A Demonica book is in your future…”  What?  No?  Okay, my fortune cookie fortune would say: “You will be hungry again in two hours…”  (I always am!)

Thanks again for having me!  I had fun!!!!

A Demon Enslaved…

Lore is a Seminus half-breed demon who has been forced to act as his dark master’s assassin. Now to earn his freedom and save his sister’s life, he must complete one last kill. Powerful and ruthless, he’ll stop at nothing to carry out this deadly mission.

An Angel Tempted…

Idess is an earthbound angel with a wild side sworn to protect the human Lore is targeting. She’s determined to thwart her wickedly handsome adversary by any means necessary—even if that means risking her vow of eternal chastity. But what begins as a simple seduction soon turns into a passion that leaves both angel and demon craving complete surrender.

Torn between duty and desire, Lore and Idess must join forces as they battle their attraction for each other. Because an enemy from the past is rising again—hellbent on vengeance and unthinkable destruction.

Thank you so much to Larissa for taking the time to answer my questions and be my guest today.  I've been seduced and I'm now a Demonica devotee :)

Want even more Demonica?  You should check out the "Bond of Brothers" article that Larissa wrote where she talks about the heroes of these books and her original concept for the series.  I found it enlightening, as well as the Five Fun Facts from Ecstasy Unveiled.  I just love those :)  And if you are a Demonica fan (fanatic may be more like it after viewing some of the reader tattoos on Larissa's website...I told you tattoos were everywhere this week),  and if you forgot, make sure you check out the link to the excerpt because at the end there is a sneak peek excerpt from chapter one in the next book in this series, Sin Undone scheduled for release this fall (Sept 2010).

I don't use Amazon to earn money, I use it because the widgets are cool, easy to use, and serve my purposes to showcase books & such with minimal effort, but most importantly they have great prices and offer both new and used items. As a book addict I love that I can find just about anything I want in one place. If you are going to purchase a featured book anyway, and you know you won't pay more by using the links on this blog than you would by visiting Amazon on your own, I will be eternally grateful for supporting this blog by using the links, and don't forget that the referral fees from your purchases will sponsor the "Reader Rewards" givaways :)

Please count me in. I follow. Thanks for the chance.

Yes, I always read the dedications. I think it tells a little bit about the author. Are they dedicating this to their kids, their parents, their dog, etc....

Hi, Larissa! Congratulations on "Ecstasy Unveiled". Gorgeous Purple Man Cover : ) Yes, I do read the dedications. If I can figure them out, then I know more about the author. If they are not plainly discernible, then they leave a touch of intrigue surrounding the author.

Hi everyone!

Wow -- I'm surprised so many people read dedications! I might have to be more careful to make sure I don't sound so dorky in the future!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

I read the dedications if they are short and to the point. The long ones bore me bacause the author seems to be thanking everyone that they ever came into contact with and don't want to hurt anyone's feelings.
