Author Promotions, Design Services & Advertising

Thank you for your interest in Seductive Musings!

What it is...and what it isn't

Seductive Musings is a blog dedicated to the romance novel (both print and digital formats).  I love reading them, discussing them, and helping authors spread the word about their books.  While I occasionally will talk about other topics or thoughts with my readers and followers the majority of the blog is focused on sharing our love and passion for romances.  I feature books, authors, products and other websites that I love or am interested in, and sometimes have giveaways or contests to celebrate.  The blog has slowly grown in followers and readers and has evolved into a group of like minded readers that love to read and who will ALWAYS find room for one more "must have" book on our overcrowded bookshelves.  We are romance addicts that hope never to be cured from our addiction :)

Seductive Musings isn't a blog dedicated solely to giveaways, contests, or paid promotional blog posts.  So while my blog may not have as many followers as other blogs that giveaway tons of things, the readers that you do reach at my blog are more likely to be the ones that will be interested in your book or other words they don't visit and read the blog just to win something/anything.  Why spend your precious time and money speaking to the wrong audience?  I offer two different approaches to sharing the love.

I:  Sponsored Ads

To help offset some of Seductive Musing's operating expenses I sell a limited amount of advertising space in the right sidebar of the blog.
  • Sponsored ads are placed at the top of the right hand sidebar above any affiliate banners or ads.
  • The ads run for 30 days (or approx one month)
  • If the ad is for a book, the title and the author name will be included underneath the ad
  • The price of the ad also includes two links....a "Learn More" link which will be directed to a URL of your choice, and a "Buy" link which is generally linked to the item at Amazon (or another retailer if not available at Amazon)
  • The ads need to be in either .jpg, .png, or .gif formats
  • All ad space must be paid in full prior to the ad being placed on the blog and should be paid via Paypal
  • I offer three different ad sizes to showcase your book/product/website (please see below for specific rates and requirements)

Small Ad:
  • Small ad space is $10 USD for 30 days (discounts are available when you purchase more than a 30 day period for the same ad)
  • The small sized ad should be
    • vertically oriented
    • no more than 125 x 200,
    • and must be a static image ONLY of the book/product/website.
Due to the size of this ad trying to do more with such a limited amount of space will actually work against you, not for you. They say a picture speaks a thousand let the picture do the talking for you. (see sample image above on the left)

Medium Ad:
  • Medium ad space is $15 USD for 30 days (discounts are available when you purchase more than a 30 day period for the same ad)
  • The medium sized ad should be
    • vertically oriented,
    • no more than 125 x 300,
    • and must be a static image ONLY, but it can display additional information other than just an image, such as text that might intrigue a reader.
This sized ad is especially nice for a new author, or a new series that people know little about  (see sample image above in the center)

Large Ad:
  • Large ad space is $20 USD for 30 days (discounts are available when you purchase more than a 30 day period for the same ad)
  • The large sized ad should be
    • vertically oriented,
    • no more than 125 x 400,
    • and can be a static or animated .gifs with several rotations.  The only restrictions for this sized ad is your creativity and of course the size.
This sized ad  will give you maximum exposure and the most freedom to do everything you want to draw as much attention to your book/product/website as possible (see sample image above on the right)

Where are the ads placed you may ask?  The sponsor ads are placed in the right hand sidebar on the blog and all sponsor ads will ALWAYS be placed above any affiliate ads.  I've received a few questions about why the ads aren't placed at the top of the blog like at some other sites, and my answer to this is very simple.  Exposure.  Most times there are at least three blog posts on the home page of the site, and oftentimes the  viewer won't spend very much time at the top of my blog.  They don't visit for the Musings graphics, beautiful  and seductive though they may be.  They visit for the content and read the posts, which means that an ad at the top won't receive as long of exposure since they quickly scroll down to the post they are interested in and read from top to bottom. Therefore, an ad placed to the side of the post will have the opportunity to receive more notice from the viewer for a longer period of time which is exactly what you want when you are paying for ad space.

 II:  Featured Promotions:

Featured promotions are generally by invitation only or blog tour participation, but I am always willing to make an exception.  My features are blog posts where I let readers know why a book/product/website is interesting to me, and therefore might be interesting to them.  In the case of a book feature it usually includes some type of author participation (guest post, interview..) and includes the cover, blurb, book trailer if there is one, in addition to  links to excerpts as well as "Buy" links and links to the authors website and various other social media (Facebook, Twitter, blog....).  It is comprehensive and will allow readers to learn a lot about what you have to offer.

I don't charge a fee for featured promotions but I am selective on who or what I will feature since my time is as valuable (and fleeting) as yours.  However, please don't hesitate to contact me if you would like to submit your book/product/website for consideration for a feature. After all it's impossible for me to be familiar with everything there is to offer on the world wide web :)

I also offer design services for book covers, blog tour buttons as well as banner ads.  If you are interested in design services please contact me to discuss what would showcase your book/product/website to it's best advantage.  Below is a sample portfolio of some of the book covers, banners and blog tour ads I've created.

Design Portfolio

  • Sponsor and Affiliate ads at Seductive Musings do not constitute an endorsement of the book/product/website
  • While sponsored ads receive top priority I can't guarantee specific placement other than it will be placed above any affiliate ads
  • I reserve the right to refuse any artwork or ad subjects that I deem offensive or objectionable.  If payment has already been made then alternate artwork can be submitted for the ad
  • Ad rates are subject to change at anytime and can only be guaranteed in the future with the payment of the ad
  • Once the ad has been placed on the blog no refunds will be given
  • I am an Amazon affiliate which is why I try to use Amazon for all the "Buy" links whenever possible.  This benefits us both is a couple of ways.  First it helps with the cost of the blog. Second I offer readers and commenters bonus entries for giveaways when they purchase a featured item, or any item using an Amazon link on this blog.  This benefits them by increasing their odds of winning something they really want, but also increases your sales at the same time.  It's a win/win for everyone.

If you are interested in promoting, featuring, or becoming a sponsor at Seductive Musings (even after reading all of this ) please use this form to discuss possibilities.  Thanks!

My FREE Kindle Quest

I've wanted a Kindle for what seems like forever, but haven't been able to afford it (and that's saying something since I can justify the cost of just about ANYTHING that I really want). I've tried winning one in one of the many giveaways that have taken place over the couple of years, but with no luck :( So I've decided to take matters in hand so to speak :) I've now decided that I am going to accumulate enough Swagbucks from my Swabucks searches to buy in essence my new Kindle will be FREE...funded entirely by my internet searches done on Swagbucks. I'll keep you informed of the Great Kindle Quest below (in case you're interested....if not feel free to just skip over this part, but really who wouldn't be interested in a FREE Kindle?)
Goal: $119
Current Swagbucks Amazon Gift Card balance: $90.00
If you'd like to learn how you can earn Swagbucks and earn your own Amazon Gift Cards to buy books, a Kindle or other merchandise sold at Amazon contact me and I would be more than happy to tell you how I plan to go about it. (just so you know you can earn both and gift cards on this rewards site)
